  1. I read somewhere Ananias and Sapphira are killed are because
    1) They didnt really follow Jesus, they join the church because they saw the miracles of the apostles and they desire those powers for themselves

    2) God can see the future and our heart and most probably, Ananias and Sapphira will not accept Jesus even in the future.

  2. At the first sign of the rise of Agrippa as king, Simon Magus/Zelotes was deposed as Pope. His fall is recorded in the story of Ananias & Sapphira. (Ananias was Simon Zelotes, & Sapphira was his mistress Helena Salome). They were both rebuked by Peter for financial wrongdoing, & immediately 'fell down dead'. They were excommunicated (spiritual death, not literal death). Excommunication was the usual fate of a fallen Pope & his associate.

  3. This is a true example how you can be in Gods Grace and fall from it💔 don’t get to comfortable with the Lord to the point where to start to think you can fill the Lord our God. If you are a true believer, everyday walk in faith and by good deeds. For anyone who sins after knowing what sin is, there is no longer a sacrifice for their sins Hebrew chapter 10 v 26

  4. Why is God slow to punish the Popes who hypocritically demand their flock (the Roman Catholics) vow to be poor until they die if they store up treasure on earth themselves? It's fascinating moreover how most Popes either were or are very old

Just Google it “all liars shall have their part in the lake of fire HOLY BIBLE KJV”

  7. Absolutely Nonsense, you talked 5 minutes but seems like talked nothing. If this story is true , then the God is a brutal , ruthless and selfish God. If your children lie, would you kill them? I don't see a merciful God in this scripture.

  8. Ananias and Sapphira made a pretense of giving the whole amount; however they “secretly held back some of the price.” (Acts 5:2) God struck this couple dead, not because the amount they gave was insufficient, but because their MOTIVE for giving was wicked and they were deceptive. They “lied, not to men, but to God.” (Acts 5:4)

Like the hypocrites whom Jesus condemned, Ananias and Sapphira were more concerned with seeking glory from men than the approval of God.

  9. This was a sin against the Holy Spirit(v3). Jesus gets very specific about sin and blasphemy against the Holy Spirit( Matthew 12:31-32, Mark 3:28-29). One cannot lie to the Holy Spirit if one doesn’t possess the Holy Spirit. Ananias and Sapphira certainly were converted children of God. It’s a tremendous stretch to try and apply Ananias and Sapphira’s death as “chastening” or “disciplining”. These words mean to train, educate, correct or punish for the purpose of correction. The point of Hebrews 12:5-11 is to help a Christian to repent and turn from error. That can hardly be accomplished from the grave(Ecclesiastes 9:5,10). This event seems more like judgment and sentencing than correction.
Only God knows their fate but I wouldn’t count on seeing them in the 1st resurrection.

  10. Nope, Ananias and Sapphira were lost forever when they sinned against the Holy Spirit by lying. It wasn't righteous discipline but righteous judgement. The only sin that will not be forgiven is the blaspheme of the Holy Spirit and that's what Ananias and Sapphira committed, no repentance and cannot be redeemed after this sin. I agree that it was a lesson to the others in the church however, it lets them and us know how seriously God considers this particular sin. This sin was directly against God and from two people who were in the faith and had the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Fear God and do not come under His condemnation, as it won't be forgiven in this world or the world to come.

  11. Did God kill the young people that made fun of the prophet Elisha for being bald with bears?

Did God fill James and John with wrath toward the samaritans to call down fire? Or was that their own call?….

Did God cause there to be a drought when Elijah prayed for it to stop raining?

I wonder what would happen if God put the power of Life and Death in our tongue?

  12. You must understand that they did not simply lie, but committed a fraud. The fact that they set aside money secretly probably means they vowed to give the entire sum of money, but didn't. Even Sapphira lied that it was the whole amount which they got which obviously wasn't. They stole what was supposed to be given to God

  13. God suppose to be the good guy and if somebody I knew would kill anybody (to punish somebody) i would find it hard to trust that person. It's really hard to understand that story because I am trying to justify what happened there and justify god, but it's kinda hard.

  14. What's crazy is that I'll bet if they would have been forthcoming with keeping a portion of the money, no one likely would have a problem with it, least of all God.

You can't play God. Just be honest.
