Why Did Allah Choose This Time for Me? | Why Me? EP. 2 | Dr. Omar Suleiman's Ramadan Series on Qadar

Of all time periods, why did Allah choose for you to be born in this one? Would it have been easier if you were born at the time of the Prophet (s)? How does your time period impact your life’s purpose? You are inevitable. You are the answer to someone’s du’a decades ago, and your life and your choices are informed by the prayers, experiences, and circumstances of your ancestors generations before you. Eventually, your life and purpose will inform that of your children’s children as well. What will you do with the cards you’ve been dealt by your ancestors? What cards will you leave behind for your descendants?

Al-Hikam al-Ataa’iyyah #17:

The one who wants there to appear in the moment other than what Allah has manifested is full of ignorance.

Note: Only vocals were used in the making of the soundtrack.

As we venture into the space of producing higher quality media, we’ve worked hard to make sure that our compliance with our religious ethics is not sacrificed. While Yaqeen has always produced vocals for our Ramadan series, this series was unique in that it also included the story of a family in the background. Our talented production team worked with our scholars to ensure that all actors were in proper hijab, and that all gender interactions were only by Mahrams in real life. We’re grateful to the team for its wonderful effort, and grateful to the families that agreed to participate.

  2. Jazak Allahu khairan for these beautiful series you do every Ramadan. Unfortunately they're short but full of wisdom. Brother Omar both you and another egyptian imam, by the name of

Abdullah Rushdy, remind me of a hadith nabawi that reads

“At the beginning of every century Allah will send to this ummah someone who will renew its religious understanding.” Narrated by Abu Dawood (4291)

May Allah reunite us all In Firdaus. May Allah allow me to meet you and pray behind you one day before my death. Try to make it to Vancouver Canada. We would love to have you in my university of UBC. Ramadan Mubarak!

  3. What a blessed reflective process of our inner script and having tawkul in our deeper sense of our existence beyond this dunyah. As a child I use to lay asleep at night after I have completed my Kalimahs and duas. My mind would flow into these questions where did we come from and what is the life deep inside of me. My Father use to say to me why do you ask these questions that do not make sense. I would like to thank you from the my heart in listening your gift of intelligence of spiritual light and guidance. I remember when I was ten years old during salah I saw a huge light around me and was confused and listening to your words has helped me to understand what we can see and not with our deep focus in my salah has always helped to be guided through my pains in my life. I had that ahah moment even though know I am near my later stag of life.
