Thailand’s landscape is beautiful to look at, but hell for engineers.

  1. I am a Chinese exchange student from an University in Thailand and have been living and studying in Bangkok for over a week. There, I saw a truly passionate people, a beautiful modern international city, and an open and inclusive atmosphere. During a visit to the Grand Palace, a Thai teacher told us that the railway project connecting Laos to Thailand is currently underway (There is already a Chinese [Kunming] – Laos [Vientiane] railway). China's high-speed rail technology is very outstanding. As a firsthand witness, I have witnessed the completion of China's railway network, making China's railway system leading the world. If the railway network could extend from Vientiane to Bangkok, it would be the most outstanding railway system in Southeast Asia! I really hope to continue studying in Bangkok in the future!☺☺

  3. I got the train in thailand once cost 10baht. The vendors were selling live chickens, fried food fresh veg everything you need to survive a 100mile journey at 30mph top speed in 35 degree heat.

  4. The existing rail network in thailand are old and most of them are in single track. the average speed of cargo train are about 30km/h and the passenger train are around 60km/h.
Thailand also upgrading their rail network to be double-track which will greatly improve the average speed and volume of both passenger and cargo train. I think once the rail network become more and more efficient more people would use it and the state railway will finally made some profit. so they can r&d their rail and train technology.

  5. China is desperate to make these trains .. get access to seas.. connect to china..get countries under debt.. then exercise economic, infra, political, cultural control over country.. effectively whats happened in laos.. now laos doesnt have a choice every major decision in country needs approval from china.. i am sure the line from china will be only line made.. and no other rail network will be made by china or they will charge exhorbitantly for any line that does make sense to china in terms of connectivity

  6. pretty good improvement….. if you're going from China to Thailand….. or vice versa.

I suppose improved people transit is good….. for stabilising relations…. at least between points a and b.

and I suppose it improves economy with more people visiting both destinations….. more often.

this life would like to visit Thailand because its people are predominantly Buddhist.

but not helping the aggressive oil industry makes this visit impossible….. at the moment.

If electric train companies can consolidate….. and link eastern Europe to Asia

perhaps we can….. encourage people to rid the skies of….. oil polluting air traffic.

  7. I really can't believe it! >>> 350 kph <<< !!! The high-speed railway "WHOOSH" that China helped build in Indonesia is more advanced, safer, quieter, and faster than Japan's Shinkansen!
India's bullet train plans are ahead of Indonesia's and use outdated Japanese technology that can only reach speeds of 320 kph, but Japan has not finished building it yet. India is really being deceived by Japan! No wonder Indians now hate Japan and demand immediate compensation from Japan on the internet! $#$@#

  8. Thailand has entrepreneurs to ensure upgrading infrastructure work to all. Existing and future shipping need such as Laandbridge and new Megaport at Kra Canal. Lower shipping and handling cost to discourage all shipping agents from wasting time and money heading to any other nearby ports. China would create more shipping business for Thailand and may totally withdraw all shipping activities from other ASEAN countries.😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

  9. Thailand would be able to get things done 15 years ago and become a prosperous country in 2020 to provide lower shipping costs in ASEAN and everyone can see smiling face all over Thailand.😊😊😊

  10. Not a challenge for china as they encountered every known terran obstacle in china's vastly large hispeed rail network. Laos connection completed, thus thailand will be in 2024 or 2025
