(Frequent Questions)
Q: Where is the gameplay from?
A: Pokemon Showdown
Q: How are the sprites looking like generation 5?
A: Click the settings button and you can change the sprite display
Q: Why is the gameplay have the opponent being dumb?
A: Well surprise its me playing as the opponent as well and having Pokemon faint every 5 seconds isn’t as fun as seeing the Pokemon do something in the battle for some time, which is why the gameplay seems like the opponent is braindead. Although I have taken some feedback and have tried to make it more interesting as possible without making the Pokemon faint every 5 seconds for hopefully better entertainment.

Thanks for watching 🙂

If you see this, have a wonderful day :)) !!

  1. Thank goodness for its Hisuian form. H-Samurott’s far superior speed, ability and movepool will make it incredible once it drops.

Its a shame that base Samurott doesn’t get Close Combat, Wave Crash or Ice Spinner to bolster its offensive movepool. In low tiers, it’s either going to have to be a swords dance sweeper or mixed attacker. Just like base Decidueye, base Samurott was not done Justice.

  2. Thank you, Chompy for another well informed video. I always thought it was weird that they gave Samurott a higher Sp. Attack stat when it Physical Moves are far better and more suited for it. I mean, it learns Megahorn for crying out loud.

  3. Samurott is just a abomination of every bad things that made it worst water type starter oh it has mono water it doesn't have good offensive dual typing for a offensive threat you want to know who is a good mono water offensive threat feraligatr does it have speed for its offensive stats nope. does it have setup moves to boost its speed and power like shell smash and dragon dance nope does it have good ability or atleast good dual typing to compensate for its speed and power like azumarill who had shit stats but had huge power nope. It has shell armor a ability that's useless for offensive threat the only thing it has is move coverage and decent offensive stats which was enough to not fall into PU tier atleast.

  4. If he gets shell smash, speed boost or swift swin it will be excellent a water sweeper i have not a mixed swift swimmer since since kingdra days and samurott directly treatens ferrotron with sacred sword toxepex with drill run and other bulky water with grass knot so it will be beyond good its start a campaign in game freak and say #givesamurottshellsmash so that they give him shell smash in dlc

  5. It is one of my favorite Pokemon and starters but I can accept that it isn't competitively viable

Sometimes not all Pokemon can be the best in one aspect and Gen 9 did leave a huge power creep on the metagame

And we have Hisuian Samurott, it's the better option with free hazard setup and sharpness boosting slashing moves

  6. Kinda why everyone wants Hisuian Samurott to save it from being subpar since I sure am hyped bringing one into the DLC team I'm planning since "Sharpness go brrr" letting Razor Shell, Ceaseless Edge, Aqua Cutter, Air Slash,Sacred Sword & Aerial Ace hit a little bit harder.

  7. Am I the only one who thinks they should of gone for a physical water stat distribution for Samurott?

Maybe add the stuff into Bulk and a bit in speed. It's a Samurai, I kinda felt like some better Bulk would make sense…

  8. Honestly all samurott needs is shell smash. It would allow it to run a mixed set while patching up its speed, and with the reduced defenses and a focus sash, could get it into torrent range easily for monstrous water stab. Sure it doesn’t make PERFECT sense thematically but neither does an armless Pokémon like wooper learning ice punch.

  9. I think the best way to put Samurot and Decidueye is that they their stats are too evenly spread out. They are not fast but not bulky but not frail either. It's defenses and offenses are also evenly spread out between physical and special. Most of the time, you would rather use a poke that is more specialized, especially with 6 team slots.

  10. Water types are so common that they need to distinguish themselves in order to be used at higher tier.
Being average just doesn't cut it.

That's why Hisuian Samurott will probably be great, Ceaseless Edge and Sharpness give it something unique, plus completely countering Gholdengo in every way is a huge deal.
The same is true for Walking Wake, it's so good because it's the only Water type that gets better in the sun, plus having great stats helps a lot.
This is also why for many generations the lower tiers have been full of Water types.
All the ones that are outclassed drop down and without their better competitors they can go all out.

    What about Unovan Samurott tho?
It has good to average attack and bulk but it's slow.
With that 70 base speed the only relevant pokemon you can out speed in OU that don't have ridiculously low speed are something like Skeliderge, Corviknight and Orthworm.
It's ability doesn't help it in any meaningful way.
It has a good mixed attacking movepool and mono Water can rarely go wrong as a type, but because of that monotyping it gets compared to dozens other mono Water pokemon and so it's not hard to find one that fits better for you team.
Floatzel is a better physical attacker (especially in the rain), Dondozo is a better wall, Walking Wake and Greninja are better special attackers, if Quaquaval can set up it sweep teams without Unaware etcetera.
You have to go down to NU to find some pokemon that aren't straight up better at what they do than OG Samurott.
Samurott has been a good NU pokemon since it's been around, but unfortunately this trend will probably continue this Gen if not worse.
At least the Hisuian Version will probably be really good and redeem his descendent.

Also thanks for the shout out in the video👍

  11. Please once the meta gets going make an updated video of Samurott ruler or NU since he was the ruler of the tier for 3 consecutive generations and I'm sure he is going to be the ruler of the tier once again… there is people using him on OU and he was surprisingly good… not enough to be formally OU but im sure he gets to rule NU and will have a nish in RU since Tera types are exactly what he needs… unlike Decidueye who can't really use the Tera… Samurott has a vast move pool and his balanced stats lets him use two different sets with different advantages… sure it always packs a water stab but the physical is running Megahorn, Drill Run, and Aqua Jet plus has sword dance while the special is running Ice beam, Air Slash, and Grass Knot… two different sets with different answers and possible tera types… On NU if the Opponent predicts a physical set it can get surprised and destroyed by a hydro pump and Coldsire can be destroyed on the switch if they are expecting a special Hydro pump with tera ground drill run after stealth rock damage is a garanteed two hit KO
