  1. He’s in a perfect situation to turn his career around. With Bosa, Armstead, and Harvgrave on that D-Line he will have plenty of opportunities to get sacks with no worries of getting double teamed. On the Raiders he never had this much talent around him.

  2. something wrong with this kid. he is too light (260 pounds) ala solomon thomas. He just can't get to the QB. Nick bosa 270 pounds. joey bosa 280 pounds. myles Garrett 275. Matt Judon 275 pounds. Ferrell probably is not fast and strong enough to play the NFL edge.

  3. A 50 50 split of snaps with Ferrell and Jackson will give us pro bowl equivalent or 1 player. Neither are going to about 7 sacks but combined I could see 14 sacks. Kinda like the way when we have Harrison/Aldon smith his rookie year

  4. Replace the name Cleland Ferral and Drake Jackson with Brock Purdy and Trey Lance and you will see how full of shit Grant is. His logic is the exact opposite of how he talks about Brock and Trey

  5. Im excited for Clelin. Huge opportunity for him, and i personally think hes underrated. Hes a good player who will only benefit from opposing O-Lines having to deal with Bosa and Hargrave and Armstead.

  6. Ferrell was on the most dominant dline at Clemson with C Wilkins and D Lawrence manning the DT positions. He was a team captain for that unit so coming from a great defensive college coach and being a high culture guy should fit well with us.

Unlike Bosa, he needs to be around a dominant line to post college-type stats. And that's exactly what he walked into here.

  7. I've been arguing for a while that people are discounting Ferrell. He was absolutely a bust given where he was taken, but he's been a pretty solid player in a scheme and on a team that hasn't always maximized its talent. He isn't Solomon Thomas, a fringe roster guy. He's a decent starting base end with all the right intangibles. Now, I don't expect him to go off for double-digit sacks. But he should be able to get some early down work on the edge, likely move inside on passing downs, and take advantage of being the fourth guy Ds worry about. I think the signing was a very nice, quiet move that could pay some real dividends.

  8. All I have to say about this is, they brought him here for a reason. He will absolutely be a major contributor and I have no doubt about that. You hit it on the head already. He's here to set the edge and kick inside on passing downs from time to time which is going to make Javon Hargrave and Arik Armstead even more scary.
