And you can see it or sense that from Fantasia's facial expressions [like they did Whoopi wrong for making her oart of this classic moment that she was the main character in the movie then 🤦♀️🫣] not when she said she hasn't spoken to Whoopi b4 this movie and said she couldn't wait to see/speak to Whoopi on The View.
It was only right that the cast gave Whoopi her flowers 💐 🎉 & the standing🧍♂️🧍♀️ovation.
One thing this confirmed that Fantasia didn't get the honor to talk to Whoopi about playing her part, What a missed opportunity to get that honor to talk with Whoopi. If Oprah did what was reported, so disappointed.

I just learned that the NAACP banned the original The Color Purple movie because of Whoopi’s role in the movie, playing what they called a ‘lesbian’ character 😮 I watched it as a kid and never saw anything wrong with the movie. So Whoop’s been needing her flowers for a very long time 🫶🏾💐

It’s frustrating people forget that Whoopi was the Drake of Hollywood is apart of the holy Hollywood Trinity: BILLY CRYSTAL | WHOOPI GOLDBERG | ROBIN WILLIAMS. Because she’s casually on a show people forget she’s actually ELITE.
Whoopi embodied that role. She brought the book alive for all of us and it was magic then and it's magic now. That movie left a mark on me throughout my life and Whoopi will always be synonymous with The Color Purple. I'm looking forward to what these new powerful women bring to the roles for sure.
