i feel like the crying child being glamrock freddy makes more sense that gregory being the crying child. the reason why that gregory looks similiar to the way the crying child looks could be because he sees himself in gregory, rather than the crying child literally being gregory.
as for why glamrock freddy sometimes behaves like a child and other times like an adult, it could be because he died very young but has been around as a spirit for a very long time, so while he is confused he has a lot of experience.
