I think it has to be something that was used to try to cure them or vaccinate that went wrong, that was highly toxic because a corpse especially an old one would not have liquid blood but alone anything pumping through veins.
I can't wait to see what they do with the rick and michonne spin off, That is the one I'm most looking forward to,
It is cool to see different zombie types, glad the shows are starting to show us more about the zombies, them being the focus, over just the human drama, because often that can get boring, mainly when the character writing just isn't good,
Unfortunately when rick left, and Angela kang took over writing the show, it went downhill super fast, it was just bad, very bad, an i bet that cost a ton of viewer's,
For one i wish they had kept the original director doing the show throughout, instead of changing directors multiple times, but also i just really wish rick didn't leave like he did, Cause man did it ruin that series. Witch i think would have finished off very strong if that didn't happen,
Seems to be a thing with amc shows, this and breaking bad had a rushed 5th season for no reason,
Now breaking bad did end way better, but i think it could have lasted 2 to 4 more seasons no issie, and they rushed it,
Now the walking dead just needed someone better behind the camera and writing the story,
I just pray whatever big show they get next, hopefully they take thier time with it and don't f**k it up this time.

Maybe these Zombies came from Xenomorphs since they both have acid blood I know that sounds crazy
