  1. Great podcast as usual guys! Just wondering if you guys have heard of the Broadway Shuffle podcast. They did an interview with CJ Baskerville this morning and it was great. There is a segment around the 10-11 minute mark that I think would give you something to talk about on your show. It to me gives an explanation as to why CJ and Lux are so important to this defense and why it seems that the defense will continue to get better. Baskerville is a great guest.

  2. Let's be honest, none of our edge rushers were playing extremely well when they were healthy. Tyree as the only edge rusher in the McGuire/AhYou era who did anything and we signed 3 top quality edge rushers in the last class, surely one of them is good enough to play this season. If Eddy Smith is showing promise, get him in there. The only pressure we got on Arizona was by blitzing our inside LBs.

  3. I'm just wondering about some of these younger WR's that have been saved about but haven't seen any playing time (not including ST's…TJ West, Valsin, and some of those guys). Hoping they dont just enter the portal….I mean it is their 3rd year and haven't seen any kind of time on offense. I know we have some good receivers right now, and they are behind those guys…just hoping they don't leave this winter. Would really put Tech behind for next season.

  4. Finally some basketball content! The best time of the year with football and basketball at the same time.

Excited to see what this team looks like with the new additions, especially Elijah Hawkins and JT Toppin getting to play alongside Darrion Williams, Kerwin Walton, and Chance McMillian. I'm also hearing Christian Anderson is already creating a buzz around the programs. LFG!!

  5. The 2 point conversion play was brilliant.

I like winning the toss and taking the ball first.

Our Tech cheerleader is a rock aint he. Back turned, Arizona player runs into the back of him and some how ends up injured. I like how the cheerleader asked if the Arizona player was ok and then went right back to one of the things he does best, cheering on the Red Raiders. We might have to sign this cheerleader to a middle linebacker spot on the team. When I saw this happen, I said Tech is winning.

I have to give some love to Bryce Ramirez. I dont think I have mentioned his name all season. Bryce has made some big plays. Our LB core is strong. Lux with early boss play on McMillian. Baskerville let McMillian know who owns the airspace. I think it was McMillians first catch and Fifita made McMillian jump and Baskerville let McMillian know who lingers in the shadows. Beautiful interception by CJ. Watch out Douglas Coy Kelly and all the WRs and TEs we have, that CJ catch was top shelf. Douglas should have had that TD in the end zone. Douglas slowed down on the route. It hit him in the hands. A diving catch for a TD in a crucial time in the game. Gino and Reese clean it up and make it alright. I sure like Reeses Peanut Butter Cups when its Halloween time. We have to capitalize on TD opportunities.

All hands on deck on a Championship run. Redshirts dont cross my mind 3-0 in the B12 looking to go 4-0. All weapons activated and ready for an all out assault on the B12 Championship road. Micah played a role in contributing to this win with a beautiful route and catch. Everyone contributes to our Championship run.

I would get the TEs more involved in the pass game. I would get Dickey & JKoby contributing in the pass and run game. Diversifying our run game takes pressure off of Tahj. I would use JKoby in the RB pass game. Give him a RB screen, Angle route right up the middle, Option route at 5 yards to go left or right, send him in the flats for some 1 on 1 action, ect. JKobys speed, elusiveness, big yardage play capabilities, and toughness brings new elements to the table. Dickey had been making plays all season. Feed the running attack with variety. We also have Morton, Jalin, and Cam Brown in the run game.

I would have the speed option going left or right as an audible at the line of scrimmage. I have seen a few times where everything is lined up for a quick strike option with big yard gain capabilities. I could see JKoby going yard on an option play, RB screen, or RB pass play. We can run a 2 back set, swing Tahj on a pass route and send JKoby up the middle on an Angle route. Run the same play with Tahj and JKoby switching routes. JKoby run the swing route and Tahj run the up the middle Angle route. We can be very creative in how we utilize the weapons we have at the RB position. Tahj, Dickey, and JKoby are all dangerous. Each one contributes skills and abilities. Tahj a bull. Dickey a mix of Tahj and JKoby. JKoby is quick fast elusive and explosive. JKoby is about to bust a big one.

Our O line has improved and is improving from last year. Our D Line is starting to dominate the run game and contribute to the pass game. Our Linebackers have been delivering some shots on the opposing QBs.

Robertson likes to attempt to QB scramble and run for first downs on passing plays as a last ditch effort to try and make first downs. This aint our defenses first rodeo with opposing QBs who think they can escape our DL and LBs. Roberston makes bad decisions when pressured and is prone to throwing interceptions. We must pressure and punish Roberston with big shots. Be ready to pounce on interception opportunities. If teams try and counter our impressive dangerous blitzes by getting the ball out fast we can shift our defense to coverage and counter their counter. With the amount of heat we can put on opposing QBs with various players Tim and the defense dictate the play. Our run D is strong. Our coverage is strong. I saw Macho cover blanket McMillian on that beautiful CJ interception in the end zone. Horn is a baller. Lux baller. I can go on and on.

I would put the Tech Baylor spread at -8 Tech. I could see the line open at minus 3 – 6. Tech has the ability to blow the Bears out. I could see the Bears quitting with a 14-0 Tech lead. It will be another here we go again moment for the Bears.

It is hibernating season for the Bears. Raider Red can help the Bears by reading them a bed time story. Make no mistake when the bell rings there will be a fight. We are fighting for Championships. 👆👆

  6. Agree with Cowan. This was one of the best defensive games of the McGuire era. Arizona looked like their plays were what we ran on the playground in elementary school…”I’ll run around and you get open.” Nothing looked like a true play.

  7. Baylor week needs to be some seriously tough practices. Get them back to reality and ready to face a desperate Baylor team. Talking about all of the kids that are coming through gets me so fired up. CJM is really just getting started. Amazing. Personally, I hate these humongous super conferences. They should be the size where you play everybody in football and home and away in basketball. I know I'm just dreaming.

  8. Preciate you boys giving us some audio of Joey. Honestly pretty ridiculous theres not been any media availablity for us to watch so far this bye week. We're 5-1 why are DeRuyter, Joey, Kittley or Perry not doing media stuff like on a regular week? Kind of drives me crazy that after a massive game that put us in the race, we have not seen or heard from anybody??? Who cares if its a bye week I need to hear from my team , gawlee atleast ONCE this week good lord.

  9. “ASU facing the most physical defense in Utah.” Against Tech, ASU was 5-13 on 3rd down and 0-3 on 4th down, held to 94 total rushing yards, 282 passing yards, and Leavitt threw an INT. Hmm, guess we will see how ASU does?
