  1. For the washout bay: use a siltbuster we have one at work on site and it’s very good at containing all the mess from concrete washout to a degree and waste can be easily disposed, environmentally friendly too, helps with an environmental case for your firm

  2. If you put the Bush in the freezer over night before you fit it, it will shrink it slightly and make it easier to fit.
If you keep the spare in the freezer it will always be ready if you need it.

  3. the yard is taking shape nicely, all the hard work will pay of in less mess, also couldn't help but see plenty of your tippers up the m1 today, they seemed a good way from home.

  4. I may be stating the obvious here, but if you lower the back end of the washout bay slightly (like 30cm so that drivers break their back washing out their trucks) then place a container in it. Drivers can washout into the container and close a lid so that there isn't an open pit of concrete in the yard. Of course you'd have to figure out a way to have proper air circulation and less humidity in the closed tank to use it effectively for drying waste concrete. But depending of the lining you use in the container, it may be even easier to empty and dispose of it once dried, which is a plus I guess.

Anyone in the comments feel free to tell me why this is a stuid idea and wouldn't work in real industry 😅

  5. Watching the refurb project has shown me what using a proper company gets you vs cowboy builders who cut corners and run away with your money with jobs half done

  6. If I learned anything from my drain clearing friends, covering those rain runoffs with earth will cause roots to grow up and through them. Then it will back up into the yard.
