While I've never personally witnessed a solar eclipse I have to question this after seeing numerous videos of eclipses: why is the moon never seen before nor after an eclipse? Is the moon infact the cause? Is it a shadow "illusion" caused by something else? Shouldn't the moon be visible? What is the "Black Hole Sun"…??? Trust NASA? Hebrew word for "Deception". "Space maybe the final frontier but it's made in a Hollywood Basement"…! 🎵🎶🎵🎶🦧🥃🍺

I'll be going to my grandparent's house in Bucyrus, Ohio early in the morning to hopefully see the eclipse. But the weather predictions I'm seeing are so split up right now between partly cloudy and mostly cloudy. I'll keep an eye on it. I hope it's sunny on the day of the eclipse, but if not, hey, I will at least see the darkening of the sky and it will be a special day with my grandparents regardless, so…yeah, not planning on going eclipse chasing. I will see a bunch of total lunar eclipses over the course of my lifetime(I've already seen 2, and there have been a bunch where just timing wasn't right(near sunrise with total eclipse point below horizon, just wouldn't be awake to see it, etc.) and I did see a partial solar eclipse of 86% back in 2017 which was a pretty cool sight, but this is my once in a lifetime shot to see a total solar eclipse in my home state. If I want to see a total solar eclipse in the US after this, I'm going to either have to travel to another state if the weather permits or hope that I live to be old enough to see the 2099 eclipse in Ohio. So I'm really hoping for sunny weather here.

For much of the totality path will be clouded raining. They will see nothing.

Cosmological time is such a mind-blowing concept.
Me not being the travelling kind, I won't even get to see the total eclipse(s) over Spain. And the next total solar eclipse in my region will not happen until 2081. Which, as far as I am concerned, is just as far away as the 500 million years until total solar eclipses won't happen any more.
To all those who are able to witness the comming event: don't ruin your eyes, stay safe in the expected crowds, stop worrying about the end of the world… and have fun!
