What’s driving the increased violence against Palestinians? | The Stream

On Wednesday, April 12 at 19:30 GMT:
It’s been nearly four months since Israel’s most far-right government ever elected was sworn into office, ushering in a period of increased violence against Palestinians.

As Ramadan continues, the intensity of the occupation has escalated. The Holy month has been marked by air raids in Gaza, settler demonstrations, violence by Israeli forces and attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque leaving Palestinians fearful and calling for accountability and justice.

This deadly violence was preceded by a revised legislative amendment to settlement laws and a plan to establish a new Israeli national guard. These changes coupled with challenges to the status quo of Al-Aqsa Mosque have lead experts to view the recent violence as predictable.

In this episode of The Stream, we discuss the latest headlines and what’s driving increased violence against Palestinians living under occupation.

  2. Well what they expected, they kill innocent people and celebrate it by giving sweets.
And then they wonder that why Israel forces are attacking Islamic terrorist groups.
    Silly 😜😄😂🤣

  3. I am a strict advocate of non violence
    bilateral.
That said a single state Palestine that includes both Israel and Palestine the way it was envisioned in 1910s when Palestine got created

  4. Both the uno and amnesty international have declared Israel an apartheid state.
An apartheid state cannot last; however non violence is imperative; protests should be made in a peaceful way against Israel's atrocities.

  5. Non violent protests should be made both in the middle east and the usa to highlight the apartheid genocide and ethnic cleansing.
A single secular state of Palestine concept should be propagated in a non violent way

  6. Mandela prevailed thru non violent protests Germany united thru non violence protests Russia attained independence thru non violent protests Martin Luther succeeded thru non violent protests, so there is no reason why Palestine cannot succeed thru the power of non violent protests and marches

  7. Unless you yourself, the Palestinians believe in the concept of 💯 percent Palestine, the way it was envisioned in 1910s, the plight of the Palestinians will not change.
A 100 years have passed and another 100 will pass unless you protest in a non violent way on the streets and elsewhere

  8. Apartheid ahahahahaha. Islamic news are just funny. Israel agreed to the creation of Palestine, and Palestine refused. Although I don't know why they would agree to the creation of a terrorist state on their border

  9. It breaks my heart to see Americans living in Israel and carrying out the beatings, killings, torturing, stealing, of Palestinians and their properties. Entering a place of worship to beat and torture Palestinians is beyond belief. America must stop funding and weaponizing the sick state of israel.

  10. Build another mosque that is grand and made with all the people together. Make it stretch 3 boundary lines, spread them far. Make these ones to bring their faith into the new. Prove to the Creator you can do these changes. You can all build these grand houses together. They will stand longer than time itself when you do this well.

  11. Arabs threw out all Jews from the middle east in 1948 they took their home's money even though Jews lived in the middle east 2500 years before Islam Arabs had no problem throwing out all Jews who became refugees but they moved on if Israel did the same in 1948 and threw all Arabs out from Israel today we will not have this problem but because the Hebrews Israelites are God chosen people they kept the Arabs even though Israel WON ALL WARS they still kept the Arabs and that is why God chose them ….

  12. I find it very significant that in a twenty five minute discussion, a single fleeting reference was made to Hamas. The term "Palestinian Authority" was not mentioned even once. I should like to know who they are, who appointed them and what influence they have on the Palestinian population, if any.

  13. This is a very important discussion and you can speak to violence against Palestinians but not without speaking honestly about the attacks from Gaza and Syria and yes, Palestinians that provoke it.

  15. Knowing all these facts how does any Muslim or Arab country continue to have diplomatic and warm relations with this evil apartheid government. It makes no sense do you not have any dignity or self respect??? That's another very sad part of this whole issue, there should be no diplomatic or peace deals until this issue is fixed for good!!! Free Palestine 🇵🇸
