  2. In regards to joining NATO:
"I don't think it is an issue that is suitable for a referendum" – Magdalena Andersson

They don't want a EMU/EURO repeat so now we're not allowed to vote on this and we, the Swedish people is forced into war alliance.

  3. Just kick Turkey out. They don't belong in anything European or in NATO. They are genocide deniers and are still actively oppressing Kurds. Hungary will fall in like and get rid of their fascist laws or kick them out too. Who needs either?

  4. 19:48 – _"…by 1994 Sweden was an official menber of the NATO 'Partnership for Peace Programme'". Yes. That programme is a forum for building relations, not any military cooperation. Many other nations are members of NATO Partnership for Peace, incl. Mongolia, Australia and… russia (also since 1994, and still). Just for the record.

  5. Aside from fika, feminism, and salty black licorice, probably nothing. They haven't fought a war in over 2 centuries. They only want to be protected by NATO, they aren't interested in much else.

  6. Sweden will support Finland this time against Russia. They have learned from their mistakes and are gathering up military power. Finland and Sweden have trained couple of decades together now. Patria Industries Oyj, Celsius AB ja Raufoss ASA combined together to undern Nammo name. They have factories all over Europe. Nammo has stocked MAINLY Finlands and Sweden ammos and military devices for few years now and has grown rapidly. So Finland, Sweden and Norway have all kind of heavy ammos to fight and no shortage will come if the war starts agains Russia.

  7. Hello from Sweden, great video. A few minor corrections/additions though:
First, it's quite debated whether or not Sweden were fully neutral during the "official" neutral period. For instance, during world war 2 Sweden let German forces use the railroads to transport troops during their invasion of Norway (In our defence, after seeing how quick Germany overtook Denmark we didn't have much of a choice) . We also did trade with with both sides during the war (though mainly with Germany).
Second (and this might is more a "fun" side note), A few years ago we had a "submarine scare" (there was reports of a Russian submarine detected in the Stockholm archipelago, I'm not 100% sure if these reports were ever confirmed). As a response (and I think it was intended as a "show of force"), the Swedish government decided to "enforce" Gotland. The way they did this was to move 120 troops to Gotland. The fun part here is (imo): What was the expectations here!? Lets assume Russia would attack, what would 120 troops on a tiny island do!?

  10. The biggest reason we Swedes and Finns decided it was time to pick a side was not only due to the war with Ukraine but because Russia said "you're not allowed to join NATO", which is a very clear shift in their attitude. They are not our sovereign and they have no right to say what we can join and cannot join. We would litterally not have joined Nato had Russia not told us we weren't allowed to. If they didn't we might've felt safe enough to stay out of conflict and remain neutral but with this shift we're gonna step it up and if they decidede to test us we'll fucking show them.

  11. As A Swede I believe that this whole process is being rushed in short term thinking. Yes Russia might be a threat in the short term, but eventually the war is going to end and then we're still going to be stuck with this military alliance. People are temporary scared into the opinion that we need NATO and think that it only works as a type of umbrella when in reality NATO is going to force us into more wars, whether we want it or not, and people are so naive that you will read comments like "we could just exit when the russians give up". If nothing else, it's remarkable how we've heard that we can't afford this and that, but now we have the money to double our military budget.

  12. First of all, there is a LOT of fake informations, i hope Sweden will reconsider the aliance choice! This was never an unprovoked war from Russia… this conflict started years ago between Ukraina and Russia! With the Ukrainians as persecutors… i don't know where from you get your infos.. but i would suggest to take in more data from other sources too before condemning left and right!
