OP should have gotten the GM involved the first time that supervisor insisted on "being a teamplayer". OP got strict order to do this one specific job and nothing else. Why do people in a slightly higher position think they have more power than the one that hired OP and gave her instructions ?
They probably got lots of complaints from other employees that you never helped with any of the cleaning and that it wasn’t fair that you contributed to the mass, but never cleaned.
i actually have to agree with the supervisor. the manager should have you training other members of staff to get them up to your level, and everyone can pitch in in all areas. otherwise it’s pretty unfair. investing in the future means not putting all your strengths on one employee and leaving them to increase sales alone. improving the whole team will have a positive impact on sales more so.
