Giovanni is the leader of the notorious Team Rocket, an organization dedicated to steal pokémon to run their business and rule the world. His original team made base in Kanto in Celadon City’s game corner, one of their most notorious acts is killing the mother of a baby Cubone which begins to haunt Lavender Town’s pokémon tower, they soon take over Saffron City’s Silph Co. building, to receive plans for the master ball, they were eventually stopped by a young trainer named Red, Giovanni is soon found one final time in Viridian City’s pokémon gym as he is its former gym leader, after losing once more he disbands Team Rocket and disappears after he leaves Kanto which leaves a negative impulse on his son Silver, who begins to despise Team Rocket saying he’ll never be weak as him and become strong all his own. In Alola, Giovanni makes a return forming Team Rainbow Rocket with various other team leaders (including Faba and excluding Guzma of Team Skull) from alternate universes where they were successful in their goals and takes over the Aether Foundation.
