  1. Is it possible for a covert narcissist to not realize their manipulating? Is it possible to have a happy relationship with a narcissist or covert narcissist? Are they always unhealthy relationships? or regular narcissists always aware that they’re doing what they’re doing. Is there ever point when they’re just working off of emotions and don’t realize it?

  2. I have always been introverted. He was both covert and malignant. I didn't speak up when over 23yr he cheated 10+ times. And forgave. This last time I questioned, and was discarded for the new supply he had already lined up. The red flags were there right out of the gate but I chose to make justifications for them. I was blamed for everything, we were polar opposites.

  3. Does anyone shy away from videos about Narcs? Dr R is the only pro I can listen to if the video is short. About to get counseling. I am an INTJ, according to the Meyers-Briggs. I did fight the nonsense, but here I am.

  4. Thank you for putting my recent years in words. Long road ahead. In one fleeting moment of clarity a few weeks ago I was told, “I thought you were perfect when I met you, and I’d struggled to leave my abusive relationship (with a violent, alcoholic, charismatic, angry narcissist), so I thought I could dump it all on you. That wasn’t fair. I have work to do.” Since then, it’s attack me, then call me an abuser for defending myself, then call me crying that “you are my true love. I have nothing without you and will never want another man.” Then kind, then unaccountable, then rinse and repeat all of the above. Now, it’s no contact. Thank you, Dr. Raman.

  5. They loooove nice people with no backbone. They want u to have some aloofness. I swear to you she said, “ I control you and your emotions . I also thought 💭 you were quiet”! They often think nice people are introverted and in their mind withdrawn which will not make you challenge the status quo. Which is far from the truth of how we can be. I’m not necessarily introverted til I need to recharge!!!

  6. idk if y'all know but not all narcissists are abusive. And they don't actually mean harm a lot of the time. They cause it because they're in pain and unable to cope, not even being able to process the idea of being a narcissist because that's their worst nightmare essentially. I could imagine a lot of npds commiting s-e once they realized all the things they've done and who they are. IT IS STILL A MENTAL ILLNESS, LET'S NOT EXCUSE ABUSE BY SAYING SOMEONE IS NPD, YOU CHOOSE TO ACT THE WAY YOU DO WHEN YOU'RE FACED WITH OPTIONS! ABUSIVE NARCISSISTS DON'T HAVE AN OPTION TO BE NOT ABUSIVE BCS THEY DON'T KNOW ANY OTHER WAY OF COPING AND DON'T KNOW THAT THEY'RE ABUSIVE OR AREN'T (YET) CAPABLE OF ACCEPTING THAT TRUTH! They're more crazy than evil by default.

  7. It dearly annoys me when those impusive selfish nacasists hate introverts who like quality over quantity who are not wreckless ,that's because we don't wanna end up insane like the nacasist, we take the narrow path the difficult path because we want serenity peace calm , its just so childish but they are children god give us strength 😇🙏❤️

  8. I so appreciate your advice Dr.! Love that you’re an introvert like my myself. I am 67 and have just woken up to the fact that my younger self attracted bossy, narcissistic friends because I was never good at making decisions. I had a mother that did that for me. Now I find myself enjoying the other kind of friends. Unfortunately, it’s those life long friends I’ve been struggling with recently and Let go of one which makes sense and enjoying time with new friends who reflect the new me waking up to all of that❤️

  9. I am born extroverted but have the complete flexibility to become introverted for long period of time maybe months as I feel more same being alone away from people. I love being around people especially as an innocent child or someone that had a simple and innocent mindset but since I become more aware of human beings complexity and diversity I preferred being introverted as it gives me safety from being around people without knowing what's in there head. I felt safe when I socially withdrawn myself and was busy reading, thinking doing my hobbies or watching documentaries. I felt that being alone had no uncertainty to safety but being around people you are risking as its always uncertain and we have different expectations of one another so it exhaust me a lot. I still get very excited and super friendly when I am around people and would love to be close and intimate I can get along easily even with strangers but what's different now that every time I spend time with someone I ruminate or feel insecure afterwards , its a conflict. maybe I will try to be extroverted but around kids instead kids that needs support.

  10. Even introverts need socialization …we just like one on one or a couple friends at most.
Its when a covert narcissistic sneaks in and destroys our other relationship in selfish sneaky ways, only to later dump us when we are onto them that it leaves us completely isolated and hurt.

Coverts are hard, even for us infj's, to recognize.

  11. Narcissist wants to be the only person in their victims life, they make the victim cut ties to other people, by making the victim feel her contacts and friends and family are somehow bad people and only the narcissist (male) is the only one saviour (from her horrible friends and family) and friend. They want to isolate their victim and lock her up for his (ab)use. So I don’t understand why the narcissist would necesarily prefer extroverts. Maybe ptsd having traumatised person, who is easily manipulated into thinking she is alone in this world. And who has some good qualities. Of course good looks and desirableness in eyes of others (men) can be one trait the narcissist is looking out for. That can make a woman look like ”a prize” the narcissist won in the eyes of others.

  12. There is a world of difference between introvert types much like there is a world of difference between covert types.

MBTI and even more so HG Tudor's easily understood system offer far more precise ways to see how these things play out with freakishly accurate detail than to broad brush them all into a unified category to presume traits of.

  13. They have a sense for those who are already being abused, so they feel they can get away with further abusing you.

I was being abused by a narc mother as a child, and I attracted bullies galore at school. In high school, I made one as a “friend”, and didn’t get how toxic she was until I fell for her feel sorry me dance and let her move into my apartment.

They weaponize your empathy, and my, fake friend, appropriated my backstory. She pretended she had been bullied and abused too, even my mental health issues, just to have an excuse to justify her financial abuse of me and other things.
And she would push me into meltdowns so she could play victim to others.

My advice from my experience, if your shit friend never pays for anything, hardly calls you and can’t keep a job or help out when they move in with you, get rid of them immediately. They are toxic.

  14. Dr. Ramani, I think people often time misses that if a parent or a sibling is narcissist it's a catastrophic episode for an introverted individual. Their world of perspective is wrecked before it can get an opportunity to form. I think only God can save such persons.

  15. You have a personality disorder. You could stop the harassment of me. You chose not to. You chose to abuse me. Your abuse has caused my death. I don’t need to “be isolated” !! And it’s illegal!!

  16. As an Introvert, I believe the reason I was stuck in a narcissistic friendship is that I am loyal. If you are my friend it meant to me that you are my friend for life. Narcs feel so safe with their abuse around loyal people.
For example, I discovered a dark thing about the narc and I was like “it is okay everyone has darkness don’t worry your secret is safe with me, no-one will ever know that about you” Coverts are experts at making the loyal person believe that they are victims. Coverts will ruin your reputation behind your back while pretending to be your friend in ur face. Stay safe everyone❤

  17. I am angry and actually offended by the narcissistic extroverts who do not respect boundaries and actually fight for the rights to be friends with your friends even when you do not invite them to be in that situation. Of course these are the same people that would flip out if I called their close friend behind their back to ask to hang out!! Narcissists befriend YOUR friends so they can turn them against you!! They will turn everyone against you without you knowing about it- in some cases this is stalking!

  18. People with ADHD are impulsive about certain things, not to be confused with narcissism.

Personally, as a special needs individual (autism) I'm pretty tired of people confusing this for any cluster b. It's not.
