A couple days ago there was a community cast with Nikita where he explained a few PLANS, CONCEPTS AND IDEAS around what Escape from Tarkov will look like when itโs finished. Persistent effects through what we call death is something that has always been part of the plan and Nikita explained something a lot of people are now calling permadeath that I wanted to touch on.

Although I do sometimes get a hand from BSG and occasionally get to talk to Nikita or other members of the team, I do not work for BSG. I also work entirely off public information and past experiences of working in game dev myself, as well as following this game closely for several years. Unless I state very clearly otherwise, the information youโre about to hear should be taken as speculation. You can either get no information or speculation, thatโs all we have to go off of these days unfortunately which is why itโs easier to just say Thursday whenever anyone asks for dates. If you want hard facts and dates you wonโt get them, period.

Do you think Nikita & BSG are "Done" with the game they have so far? Or should they finish the ideas they had and continue to build on the game we've all come to love? What do you think?
They need to add COVID and you can pass this around to other players and you get sick and have to take meds and need to wear masks to run raids when your sick
Resetting while in the campaign is fine to me, but not after completing it. Maybe an expensive Service from Therapist as a Reward for completing the campaign.
Criticism is needed or BSG will fail by not appealing to their core audience. They need to know what people want, and ask for feedback regularly
Update 13.19 after you die with pmc you die in real life by Nikita himself
I dislike the whole idea of radiation. Knowing BSG they are going implement it, its going bug out and screw the entire game up. Also hope they don't make radiation in labs. labs is already super aids this wipe because people seem to absolutely THRIVE off the idea of unplugging their keyboards in back hanger or something, and will kill the PVP there even more
Agree, what makes this game so different to me is the risk and consequence..
I just want a revolver, is that too much?
I 100% agree that BSG gotta do what they got to do. To get the game they want however I don't see why they gotta add effects that might wreck your account not only current life. I'm afraid that this will just turn into an unintended DayZ clone without zombies.
What if a cheater has looted the entire irradiated area from across the map so you get sickness for nothing ๐๐
Thank you NoiceGay!
You are doing a fantastik job!
This game will loser players and or streamers if they make you restart the game if you get to much radiation.
If i have to reset my account i would never play this game again
i think i rather pay for meds to cure the radiation than a damn account reset.. imagine being lv 60 and you have one day being a dumbass you're messed up and viola account reset,…. would you like that ofcourse not
Perma death is stupid, the only Thing that could Work is If you Go there that you will get some Kind of debuff over some time Like you health temporaly only at 300 Something Like that or that youre skills are lowert. WHO would risk a perma death after you Put so many hours in youre Charakter
So many plans so little patience
This whole radiation thing sounds like a good concept against extraction campers in closed rooms or buildings.
Just make the extraction room full with radiation so you have to move through it swiftly and quickly extract, meaning that extract campers who spend minutes camping in the room can't do it without inflicting permanent damage to their PMC.
I…really don't vibe with the idea of permadeath and having to COMPLETELY restart. Idk I just think that's too much, considering some people can't play the game 24/7, that's just too unforgiving for the people that want to enjoy the game yet have lives outside of Tarkov.
ppl should accept any game as an art work, interfering with how the devs their game will only lead to every game genre gonna be almost the exact same with minor changes
Permadeath is the death of Tarkov, if it means what i think it means
ooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrr YOU DISCONNECT in a rad zone bc tarkov is buggy asf then you have to reset your account
incredible how awful all of this sounds
It means casual plebs will be gone.
Sounds like a fantastic rogue like single player game. Not sure I like the idea of all this if itโs online.
I mean with your radiation example for perma death, what if I just knock someone unconscious, drag their dumbass into that irradiated area, and then wake them up and basically kill their character permanently? I feel like permadeath just doesn't make sense in a game like tarkov, where you already die randomly by no fault of your own.
So if i died on pmc i will be able to go to nex raid without reset but if i died on radioactiv contamination i will lose everythig?
Nikita told us " this is not a game for everybody, it's not supposed to be fun"
I'd like if you had a bad time with radiation every few 10 minutes in raid you need to take meds to not die then after a significant amount raids it'll go away. You'd have to spend money on the meds and the status effect could come at inopportune times. Honestly credit to nikita for such great ideas
In my opinion let them do whatever they want as long as i am not forced to restart whole character for escape. Instead of permanent death it should be something like long-term death. Hard to cure but still curable.
Basically guaranteed death without painkiller effects // painkillers give you debuffs – I guess Iโll just die then. On another note, I just kind of expect tarkov to turn into a tamagotchi copy where you have to log in to feed your pmc cans of tushonka three times a day or he withers away and dies
I don t think that's a good idea giving the bugginess of the game, and the fact that they are not able to solve those bugs since many years. Making a buggy hardcore game is just not an idea.
