Vincent’s death was truly tragic. Couldn’t hate the character.
I was 18 when this movie came out and I saw it. I tried to act like Vincent for the next year. Hahaha so damn cringe but Tom Cruise as Vincent was such a great performance.

I don't like Tom Creep. I think he's a psychopathic narcissist judging by the experiences people had with him, interviews where he spoke freely and my own experiences with such individuals. He plays this part so well because he understands the character all too well. It must've been a real outlet for him to play this part.
Love the way you capture the reality of anti socials. The character of Vincent is very extreme, most anti socials do not have those extreme cognitive skills to manipulate on those levels or go kill like it were changing oil of a car. But in every anti social lies that universe of coldness that is the result of not having a conscience..it's just not there. They can be completely ambiguous to morals, it's whatever that servers them best which matters. They were hacked at a young age by a survival mechanism. It is called anti social 'disorder'.. i don't agree… their personality is hacked completely other than some personal tastes which evolve along with the individual.

NOIR! YES! That is the word I've looked for to described this wonderful chilling film. The coyotes right in downtown LA made a great metaphor, but those coyotes are all over the city. They are fat and look very good. I must see this film again. NOIR!

I felt all of this when I watched it the second time tonight.
The first time, I just hoped (in a TC fanatic way) that Vincent would turn out to be good in the end, coz I never expected Tom Cruise to play an all-out baddy!

I don't think it took much for Tom Cruise to "act" as Vincent. It's just in him to be the psychopath. That's why you don't see him doing more antagonist roles as more people would start to wonder.

Collateral is my favorite Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx movie. The L.A. New Noir atmosphere and world along with the two stars make this movie an instant cult classic for me.

Under rated performance and movie. A lot of ppl I talk to have never even heard of this movie yet the villain is one of my favorite all time behind maybe Antoine Chigur and Tyler Durdan. Kevin Costner in 3000 Miles to Graceland type performance
