  1. i agree, killed andy at lv10 with that fire aura on plain hit. Easy starting out character for sure, fire aura combines area dmg with hit dmg, means you can kill bosses and mass cows for example.

Imo paladins are the best character because of the build diversity all of them extremely powerful, hammerdin is ridiculous with the right gear, zeal in all its flavours fanaticism/holy shock/freeze, smiter for ubers, fist of heavens is a cool build also. Even with budget gear in a party auras are well overpowered! My fav class in d2 overall and the one I took to 99 sp/hc before terror zones which took forever 😂

  6. •Easily obtainable resistances.
    •Multiple movement skills available.
    •A melee attack that always hits.
    •An aura to cover literally any situation.
    •Holy Shield grants, basically, perfect blocking for essentially free.
    •A strong mix of both single-target and aoe abilities to choose from.
    •Blessed Hammers deal "Magic" damage which is almost never runs into Immunities.
    •For some unexplained reason, Concentration Aura works at partial strength for Blessed Hammers, which it technically absolutely shouldn't, and ends up increasing it's damage by a ridiculous amount that almost no other character gets an equivalent of (consider: Bone Necro is pretty low damage, and it's essentially a Hammerdin without Conc aura.)
    •Gets 3 Life per Vitality point, which is on the high side.

    The "consideration" that the developers gave Paladin is ridiculous. No other class even comes close to how well this one does. It's easily a full two tiers above the next best class, whatever that is.

  11. I would say both Sorc and Paladin are the two best classes in d2. There is no "the best class" because it depends on so many things like Group Play, Support in Group, Overall Performance, Leveling Performance, Progress due to immunities, Magic find, Endgame and so on

  14. The hammer- and FOHdins are insanely efficient builds for a couple of HRs worth of gear, possibly the best specs for "midgame" on online. They're really safe and very strong. I do think endgame completely min-maxed there's definitely classes and builds that beat the Paladin in every aspect. I do think Sorc is definitely better overall though, Blizz is the best starter build bar none and end-game full build Nova clears faster than paladins.

  18. actually… if u do holy fire for normal then switch to holy shock at 30+ its A LOT smoother and less annoying till u get ur enigma for hammers

  20. Builds you can do with a Paladin: Smite, Zeal, FoH/Holy Bolt, Conviction/Vengeance, Aura-din, Zeal, Hammers.

    Additionally, you can also utilize Charge as a very annoying (to fight against) but effective PvP build with a spear. That's 8 builds you can do that work pretty damn well applied to the job they're designed for.

    Necro has 3, assassin has 2, Barbarian tries but ultimately only has 4. The only real competitor would be sorceress who also has 8, however, many of those require extensive setup into expensive runewords.

    There really is no equal. Paladin is just built different.

  23. If D2 resurrected had the constant skill swapping and gear swap for free from Diablo 3 (which personally i like that D2R doesn't have) Paladin would easily be the best character to have for the versatility. Even has good duel builds.
