Hope the swim goes well, practice as much as you can prior.. I did my surf rescue course years ago as a fit 20 year old, took me a few weeks to get good enough to pass the swim (400m in 12 minutes) having not done distance swimming since a kid

i was over weighted for a bit untill a good instructor showed me the correct way. so now 20# single tank & drysuit / heavy under garment. and 0# with my doubles . you are doing great keep it up buddy

What part of the Philippines are you in. Im a very new open water diver, and i would love to have someone with more experience to dive with so i can learn. Hopefully you're near cebu.
Hi Justin, congratulations on losing all the weight, including the lead! You're looking much more healthy! I have a steel Dive Rite backplate and will never go back to the jacket BCD. Why does everyone wear a wetsuit in the Philippines? I was there in July and just wore a rash guard in Moalboal, El Nido, and Coron (the last two were only snorkeling with my family.) I save the wetsuit for the cold Florida springs.

Oh yeah!! You're under the microscope for sure pal – from now and forever!! Only peice of advice I can give as an instructor is to remember, if you do it, your students can do it. You're the role model – so keep a check on those bad habits!! We all have them, but you're gonna get caught when you tell a student not to do something and they shoot back, "Well you've just done it!" – Ground, please swallow me up now!! Have fun with it pal! To be fair solo diving is very enjoyable especially when searching for marine life to film and photograph.
