What’s going on with Ganondorf? He’s facing some serious issues preventing him from coming back in state either you or I are familiar with. Watch this video to get caught up to speed on his situation!

I love you wiz!! ❤️❤️🙏🥰😘
That is clearly Ganondorf. Otherwise the Calamity wouldn't have risen from him where he was underground. It's just that he had all this power even while he was unconscious, and that's terrifying.
good video man! great to get beginners into the series.
last i heard was the Aonuma confirmed that BOTW was 10,000 year in the future of when all the other zelda games took place, and i thought fans just went with the convergence of the timeline theory. heck it could turn out that every Legend of zelda was indeed a Legend folk tail warning of corruption and abuse of power. its an entertaining take on the series at least.
Awesome vid to recap what we know leading up to totk!
Awesome video! Great summary of the Triforce up till Botw. I also just watched Monster Maze's video on the Triforce last night so I respect you for plugging it multiple times throughout the video. What do you make of the theory that the silent realm is within Link's mind/psyche? You said it's up for debate whether the silent realm is the Sacred Realm so that leads me to believe you're not convinced that they're separate.
been playing these games since the original LoZ when i was 10, i didn't know 3/4's of this stuff…lol- I always just consider a new game a new story.
4:32 is like pure butter
Wiz I think you need to step up the pun game a bit bud! just kidding, loved the video, keep up the good work! Im really excited to see what comes next in the zelda timeline!
It’s Ganondorf , he still has his headgear on that he had in twilight princess and he cracked his neck which I believe is a nod to Zant doing the neck crack and Ganon’s life end
Fi, a Greek letter that make the "F" sound, is also the symbol for the golden ratio: Φ,φ
i don't think we even have confirmation its ganondorf. i mean, it probably is. but also i'm like 99% sure demise is going to play the villain role. the person speaking in the trailer, i don't think thats ganondorf. i think thats demise.
a lot of people are making theories around this but totally neglect the basic facts of zelda lore:
ganondorf wants to rule, and ganondorf is the source of the malice.
demise wants to kill everything. he brought the army of monsters with him when he first invaded hyrule. they came from the ground. demise was sealed in the master sword, not killed. the dialogue makes that very clear. the master sword is completely totalled in totk.
i really think its as simple as this:
ganondorf's malice corrupts the master sword when it gets hit. link throws the sword away likely because its totally fucked in that moment. demise is no longer imprisoned in the sword since it no longer has any power. demise takes over hyrule.
and the timeline wont loop either. that would make the zelda team's creative flow rather difficult in the future, not being able to add new races or major locations, and having to work around the games' stories in the set timeline. they simply won't be doing that, it would impede their creativity.
Maybe the "last" Zelda game is the sci fi one it was meant to be 🙂
Demise's curse really screwed over Oot Link that's for sure bro 😢 From orphan, to unsung hero, to loner, and lastly to stalfos. One last act of rebellion against fate, to lighten the burden of the next "hero". Dude staved off death through an unholy method. Pretty cool how the original hero despite holding up his end of the bargain pre- hero of skies, spawned a line of "resentful" heroes. They are still them, and they have no clue why they embark as saviors.
5:32 I would also like to add that when translating from Japanese, the language this game was originally made in, the letter ‘i’ is used as a phonetic supplement for the letter ‘い‘ which makes the long ‘ee’ sound. So you are doubly right.
Doesn’t ganondorf reincarnate as ganon in four swords adventures? It takes place after tp where he should be dead but he isn’t which I think confirms he CAN reincarnate he just hasn’t much. Also I feel like in the downfall timeline he comes back a bunch but i don’t know if he was ever concretely killed so idk if he’s confirmed to have reincarnated there either.
A possible solution of the malice having nowhere to go could be Demise possessing Ganondorf’s corpse now that the Master Sword has been compromised.
truly believe ganon was wronged at some point by Zelda pops, initiating his hatred, opening him up to demise.
Fi is indeed intended to be pronounced FAI in English. Don't disagree with you on the pronunciation of fidelis, though. It seems like the name has multiple potential meanings, be it alluding to the letter phi with an altered spelling, or fidelis. The name in katakana is ファイ (pronounced FAI).
never got why people pronounced Fi like (f-eye) cause not only is it of Latin origin like you said but its also a Japanese game and in Japanese "i" is pronounced "ee"
Fi in the french version is called Fay.. "Ay" is pronounced "I"
Did he call Tetra, Tara? 😂
Excellent vid again bro. I made the right choice of hitting the bell and subscribing to you! Keep it up! 👍
Ganondorf has canonically been reincarnated between TP and FSA.
Nice video. I have a own Theory but it’s quite a text, but no one’s reading it so I hope you and your community will take the time.
I once heard the idea of a Link who wasn’t present in the past, and the person in the mural fighting against the calamity was Ganondorf, because of his red hair. But let me explain why I believe the person in the mural and the corpse we consider Ganondorf are both the same person but not as you might think. Please read till the end it is worth it. 🙏🏻
I believe the hero in the mural is THE male Gerudo who is born every 100 years. It doesn't always have to be Ganondorf.
But it would make him a King, according to the traditions of the Gerudo. The Gerudo are a very strong tribe but we can only assume how powerful a male Gerudo can be, by comparing him with Ganondorf.
Also I believe the male Gerudo King is the descendant of Ganondorf.
What makes me think this isn’t Ganondorf?
From the actual canon storyline, Ganondorf/Ganon has already been defeated which we see in Zelda 1 and 2 as well as Four Swords Adventures, and A link Between World: the final games of the current timeline apart from Botw. Spirit Tracks also didn't reintroduce Ganon-(dorf) but there appeared a new Demon King ruling the demons. We always connected the Bokoblins, Moblins and other pig-like-creatures with Ganon, who is also a big Boar-Demon. But this is wrong: In Skyward Sword they also existed and there was no signs of Ganon, only Demise. That means that Ganon is part of the Pig-Like-Demons just the strongest among them. That’s the reason why after defeating, or better sealing demise in the master sword, the spoken curse infested the strongest demon, Ganon.
For several thousand years the curse was infested Ganon and the coexist together but after finally defeating Ganon, there was only malice left, the origin of all evil, the part of Demise itself.
And who are the Zonai and what type of role they are playing in The Legend of Zelda?
I think the Zonai are an ancient religious tribe who worship all of the goddesses from Nayru to Din and Farore. We see statues which following the characteristics of each goddesses. The Dragons stand for courage and Farore, the owls stand for wisdom and Nayru, and the big pig Statue stands for Din (or Ganon) which represents strengths. Their knowledge was outstanding therefore they could have written the prophecy of the calamity. Maybe they were part of the battle as well, because in theories some people believe their were fellows of Ganon, but in that era they followed the strongest one, the Gerudo warrior, who was chosen by the goddesses.
But why doesn't Link appear as a hero 10.000 years ago?
It was already told in the legends that the calamity once returned but no hero appeared to save the people. (the land was flooded-> hence what happens in Wind Waker. In Wind Waker we only see one reincarnation of the three chosen ones of the Goddesses. Tetra aka Zelda. Ganondorf was the same from Oot and Link only was a child but got the Triforce of Courage because he was worthy of it.
The one hero didn’t show up when the calamity was destroying the lands of Hyrule once again 10.000 years ago. Consequently the people of Hyrule had no other choice to send the only two persons who are able to stop the Calamity and made them the warchiefs during the battle: Zelda and her sealing power and the most powerful warrior at that time: The King of the Gerudo.
I guess, what happened with the hero of the wind previously, the same story repeated with the Hero from 10.000 years ago. He proved himself worthy to become the possessor of the Triforce of power.
But the calamity was to strong, either Zelda wasn’t able to seal him, or the Gerudo warrior followed by the whole battalion and the divine beasts couldn’t destroy it. Therefore during the battle, the only way to stop the Calamity was to present the body of the Gerudo warrior as a vessel, sealing away the Calamity in that body once and for all. The hero died and the Triforce of power came of his body returning to the sacred realm.
10.000 glorious years of piece and prosperity ruled over the Kingdom of Hyrule, the longest period of time, without a menace, where all the events only were known as “Legends of the Princess Zelda”. Traditions which always have been kept alive during the ages for example naming any princess of the royal bloodline after the holy Prinzess Zelda.
But there was one prophecy about the returning of the great calamity which at the end became truth. The Story of Breath of the Wild.
There is another thing about the Triforce: I believe Zelda at the end was using the completed Triforce, extremely powerful to seal the Calamity away. Indeed she and Link defeated the Calamity but where was the calamity supposed to come from, when it was sealed 10.000 years away?
The answer is the corpse of the hero, which we see in the Tears of the Kingdom trailer. I will call the Corpse: “The Hero of the calamity” just to make it easier to identify what hero I am talking about.
The calamity is sealed but the malice, the curse is too maleficent to simply hold it back. It flows over the 10.000 years out of the body and became the hatred which united produces the Calamity of Ganon. It looks like ganon because over the thousand of years the malice and the demon Ganon got the same appearance because of the coexistence.
Zeldas sealing power vanished and so the triforce also did return to the sacred realm but the triforce of power is still bound to the Hero of the calamity in the past. Furthermore because of containing the calamity in his body he will become just a puppet of Demise’s Curse when he awakens and will be our enemy to either liberate him from the curse or destroy him with the curse.
I think the piece of courage will be given to Link after completing all the new trial in Tears of the Kingdom. The awakening of the Hero of the Calamity, brings darkness to the land and destroy everything in Hyule.
That’s the reason, why I am really sure we will travel through the time to prevent the downfall of the Kingdom of Hyrule.
But then, we might get a typical time travel paradox here, like we've had since Oot and the timelines split.
So if Link really travels back in time, he would meet the ancient Zelda, the hero from 10,000 years / aka Hero of the calamity and then the Triforce would finally be united as well, since no part would be missing. As in Age of Calamity, time travel would be given different conditions and bring about a different ending, a new time split will be created. With Age of Calamity, Botw and Tears of the Kingdom we would end up with three timelines again like in Ocarina of time.
PS.: What you mentioned before in your video, that Ganons Resurrection is connected to the Triforce of Power therefore I guess that was the reason Ganondorf and Ganon became one at all. Ganondorf as King proved himself worthy as well to get the Triforce of Power but his greed to rule all of Hyrule was the agent of is own path to darkness. He only wanted prosperity for his tribe but at any cost.
Many have believed that BOTW took place several millennia after Twilight Princess including myself primarily cause of what Zelda said in the game: "Skyward bound, adrift in time or steeped in the glowing embers of twilight." But as turns out the world of BOTW is supposedly taking place in a reunited timeline which is hinted by the references made to games from all 3 of them.
My theory is the Ganondorf we see is likely the one from Twilight Princess though he has many similarities to the Ganondorf from Hyrule Warriors but that is a non-canon spinoff game so that isn't helping in any way. Next part of my theory is that something must have happened either after the events of TP like Ganondorf was never really dead and he eventually returned to cause chaos and despair in Hyrule once again but was defeated and sealed away in a tomb of sorts undergrounf to try breaking the cycle as killing him means he will just be reincarnated. The other theory is maybe there is a lot more to the events that happened 10,000 years before when Calamity Ganon was first defeated, maybe that was also when Ganondorf had returned and when he was defeated the Royal Family possibly along with the help of the Zonai or whatever this new race shown in the artbook and stone murals are, had him imprisoned below Hyrule Castle as to not allow him to threaten Hyrule again with his malice but of course like the seals in previous Zelda games they were always only temporary or not strong enough to hold forever and as demonstrated Ganondorf's malice was still able to slowly seep out and form into the abomination that is known as Calamity Ganon and bring ruin to Hyrule. Now that Ganondorf's seal is broken and he's been set free he can now fully unleash his malice on the world and it's clear the hero of the wild is in for a challenge possibly bigger than the challenge faced by the hero of the skies.
While it may be incorrect Latin, in the game Fi is pronounced Fai, rhyming with sky and fly, according to Nintendo.
Can anyone tell me where the location is at 0:15 in BOTW?
Personally I believe that BOTW takes place after a merging of the timelines, since the ganondorf corpse we see in TOTK appears to be the same one as TP for several reasons which would be from adult timeline, but the fallen hero timeline, all of its games, links hat always has a yellow band on it, and so does the set of the wild (theres also dlc/amiibo but their cannonness is questionable at best)
Yes, why wouldn't the entombed body that creates the malice that forms into Calamity Ganon. BE Ganons true form that isn't just malice complied into a physical amalgamation. The demise theory doesn't work because in the delay teaser we see Fi still talking to LInk and Fi is either holding back or still destroying Demise or he's already been destroyed.
And the malice isn't Demise either, you clearly don't understand the point of BOTW, the power that Ganondorf has aka Malice is just his hatred and anger for everything and everyone around him. His desire for conquest and domination over others, if it was demise then the pure malice form Calamity Ganon assumed in the Dark Beast Ganon Boss fight would be called Dark Beast Demise.
This Ganondorf is his own separate entity from the Ganondorf's that came before him and the stories of those ganondorfs and how they came into existence, just how BOTW is its own separate entity that takes place at the end of all timelines but tells its own story disconnected from those timelines.
I pronounce Fi the same exact way you do. I don't understand how you would pronounce it any other way.
If the malice is demise, maybe the Green swirls are the hero spirit?
Urbosa even said the Calamity Ganon used to take on the form a Gerudo so for her, this fight is personal. It’s 100% Ganondorf
I am not a perfect person. I accidentally called Tetra “Terra”. Blame it on having watched Teen Titans during when Wind Waker first came out 😅
Anyway, please excuse the mistake and thanks for the viewership!
I think Demise is coming back. At the end of Skyward Sword, the Master Sword traps the malice of Demise, and in Tears of the Kingdom, the Master Sword is broken, letting the malice, and Demise back out or resurrect.
My wild prediction is that Demise will resurrect Ganon(dorf), either by malice or by getting the Triforce of Power back from Zelda.
I've always called her Fi (Fee) as well. Glad I'm not the only one.
I don't think Ganondorf necessarily died at the end of Twilight Princess, rather he just lost his triforce of power. He was still alive but in a coma-like state where he could not move but was still alive, hence him being sealed with the hand deep below Hyrule Castle maybe even in the sewers that we traverse in TP as Wolf Link… Or further below that
Great name very good stuff. I don't understand how hylia took the place of din farore and nayru
How do we know that's Gannon
One of my favorite things about the end of your videos is that you close with the music from the Symphony of the Goddesses it just takes me back and I remember seeing them live when they came to my city
Not Ganon but demise looks at the hair it looks like a mummified demise
