Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Zombies has been heavily criticized for its lack of aura, atmosphere, tone and feel that older Call of Duty zombies titles have been known for. Specifically Black Ops 6 zombies Liberty Falls map that recently got updated by Treyarch to enhance its aura and ambience. But what exactly IS aura??

  1. Could you imagine you and some random person each gets a car. One manufacturer makes you a Corvette cuz he knows you like a Corvette. The other manufacturer makes someone a Civic cuz they know he likes the Civic. But then the person that gets the Corvette criticizes the other manufacturer for making a Civic so boring and lifeless etc etc and they want it changed even though the customer is happy with their Civic. That's what's happening with Liberty falls. It's not for the hardcore zombie base. We have our map terminus. Imagine if the other fan base was trying to change our terminus map into an open world map. That would be a whole different story then huh.

  2. It’s cool that they atleast listened to, but at the same time it was just lazy…. Random purple clouds similar to the portals in die machine???…… and a darker look????? They basically just turned the brightness down ….. terminus all day everyday sadly.

  3. Finally, someone brings up that the older games had atmosphere without making the flamethrower a shoulder mounted dragon or having the map take place on olympus or going through portals into alternate dimensions.

  4. I hate how everyone always shits on Zombies. Seriously, there hasn't been a single time where the community DIDN'T complain. First it was that the mode was too bare-bones, so they added perks and new maps. Then it was too hard and the maps were cramped, so they opened it up and made more exploratory maps. Then the community whined and moaned about how it wasn't "hardcore" enough. So they made tougher maps with ridiculous EEs, and then everyone complained about seeing the same characters over and over again. So they created a new crew and people complained about how their characters weren't flushed out as fully as the Primis crew, etc. etc.
Could you content creators please just shut the fuck up and let us experience a game for ourselves for once? I mean, seriously. You guys killed Infinite Warfare before the beta even dropped. You guys complain about the community being toxic, when in reality we just go off of what our favorite content creators present to us. Do better.

  5. i prefer the atmosphere of most the original timeline maps. namely, all the WaW maps, Kino, Ascension, Call of the dead, Moon, tranzit, and die rise. all ave dead atmospheres devoid of human life. some of my particularly favorite parts of maps are in WaW with odd sounds echoing through abandoned facilities, everything is in disarray with blood smeared on the walls. i want to feel like im stuck in a hostile enviornment

  6. I almost wonder if the reason Zombies Aura in CW/Liberty Balls is that the mode as a whole is having an identity crisis. Zombies has been Warzoneified, is trying to bring in a new audience, and also satisfy the hardcore fans. It’s trying to write a new story within the Dark Aether but also calling back to the Aether Story. I think 3arc doesn’t know how to focus the maps aura/atmosphere/tone to a way to target all their audiences causing confusion

  7. “Let’s define aura” then you proceed to define atmosphere. I get you’re using online slang to reach certain audiences, but you could’ve just used the word atmosphere. Also based on how I’ve seen others use “aura” you’re using it incorrectly

  8. I dislike Modern Zombies because of the ideology that "Old Zombies was hard and too difficult". People WILL learn and get better – but modern zombies is hand holding regardless. Imagine if they made Dark Souls easy to complete – the DS community would HATE it. But for some reason the COD community is different, they want easier, they want to limit creativity to something that's simple, they want everything explained to them.

Why is it our game mode that has to get dumbed down? I genuinely cannot fathom it.

  9. People dont realize that aura is synonymous with atmosphere in this context

    Aura:
the distinctive atmosphere or quality that seems to surround and be generated by a person, thing, or place.
"the ceremony retains an aura of mystery"

  10. Why do so many people have an issue with the word “aura”? It’s literally a shortened version of saying what it means. If you don’t like the word then that’s a “you” issue 😂.

The issue with chopper using “aura” isn’t that he’s saying it, but rather that he’s saying it so much. There’s no way I could have that much of one word on a script or essay so that’s the only gripe about it I have.

I barely remember MrRuflewaffles saying it. It’s not his fault for using a word that perfectly encapsulates and personifies what he’s trying to say 🤷🏻‍♂️
