  12. What if Palpatine wasn't actually a Sith Lord, and was just a scholar who had studied both the ancient Jedi and Sith, and he truly did wish the best for Anakin. This version of Palpatine truly believed in the idea of the Force being connected to all things, and loved the ideology of an Order of people sworn to serve the Force and only the Force. However, due to his studies of the ancient Jedi, he saw clearly that the current Jedi Order was not what it was meant to be, and so he attempted to push for Jedi like Anakin to make drastic changes within the Order, leading to civil war.

    Mind you this Palpatine isn't Force Sensitive, he is just very enamored with the Force, and does truly with all his heart believe that the will of the Force is the only real driving power that should be followed.

    He also understands to a degree that so long as the Republic is at war, and relies on the Jedi to lead the Clones into battle, that the Jedi don't have much of a choice but to be soldiers. This could create a complete opposite situation to what we had in episode 3, where rather than it being the Jedi suspecting that Palpatine won't return the emergency powers granted to him after the war ends, it is instead Palpatine suspecting that the Jedi won't relinquish their positions as Generals within the Republic's military, and so it's Palpatine attempting to ensure that when the war finally ends, that the Jedi will return to what they are meant to be, and no longer be involved in politics. Basically… he is actually legitimately worried about what original Palpatine pretended to be worrying about… the Jedi taking over.

    This would also mean that the current Sith Lord would actually be Darth Plagueis as Palpatine isn't Sidious, and thus never killed his former Master. Plagueis would have been the one to manipulate everything from the start, leaving Palpatine as just a truly caring Chancellor who is trying to protect the Republic, but is also a threat to Plagueis due to how much he understands the Sith, thus Plagueis (Who to my understanding, was close to Palpatine in the government and originally died between episodes 1 and 2) knows that his greatest risk of being discovered, is Palpatine himself.

    Could Palpatine with his vast knowledge, find it in himself to challenge his friend should he discover his true identity, and could this perhaps lead to a Galaxy lead by a 'good' Emperor Palpatine, who aligns with the Light and truly fights for the Galaxy to be the best possible Galaxy it can be under the Empire he creates? His 'Enforcer' Anakin being the Grandmaster of a new reformed Jedi Order that enforces the will of the Force, not of politicians.
