  1. It depends what NATO country it is. Here in the U.S. they no doubt will ask the Russians to leave, and if they don't, the U.S. military will patiently wait for the Russian aircraft to finish their mission and leave U.S. airspace. After all, under no circumstances will the current military risk potentially causing debris from a downed fighter jet or bomber to accidentally hit civilians, even in sparsely populated states such as Montana. So instead, the military brass will just sit on their hands and do nothing.

  5. As long as Russia cannot defend itself from american nuclear weapons, they won't push their luck. America already threw nuclear bombs in the past, and they will do it again. Russia knows that.

  6. This concept is one of the great things about the F-35’s. It can monitor multiple targets and relay information to F-15’s and F-22’s close by while engaging a few itself and the faster more agile fighters can take on the other targets.

  7. If Russian fighters enter Nato air space, Nato will do nothing. Nato has no way of competing with Russia.
Nato is being wiped out in Ukraine now. Nato has no weapons because it was always basically a fake military but a real money laundering scheme.

  8. About the air crew on alert:

In high alert situations during the cold war, such as the invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968, and the Cuban missile crisis, Swedish air crews on standby were actually spending hours sitting in their planes, ready to take off in minutes or less.

This was rather laxed during the 00's, but Russian provocations increased and now there are air patrols ready and occasionally you hear the sonic booms when the intercept aircrafts start moving.
