What If Darth Vader Stopped Tarkin From Destroying Alderaan

Darth Vader participated in Alderaan’s destruction by allowing Tarkin to destroy the Core Planet. What If Vader Instead, Stopped Tarkin from Destroying Alderaan? What would come from this? Would Tarkin actually refuse to destroy the planet? What would happen to Leia, who was on deck? Would Palpatine side with his apprentice or with his long time best friend?

  1. What if Anakin could control both the Light and Dark sides since when he was just a Padawan? (Let's say, in this Universe, he has some sort of passive for that or something) I think this could be interesting, Anakin could use this to prove the Jedi wrong, give Dooku and Sidious misinformation, surprise the Jedi council member, etc.

He wouldn't powerful from the start of course, but would be a lot stronger than his original part.

  2. During the phantom menace Qui-gon jinn performed a blood test on anakin, padme and jar jar so that he could find out anakin's midichlorian count. So what if padme's blood was also tested and she was found to be a force senstive as well. With a midichlorian count that rivals mace windu's and was potentially along with anakin a dyad in the force.

  3. Honestly he should have chosen Tatooine to test the Death Star on so that he finally got the best of that damn SAND! Plus without lnowong it he would have eliminated Obiwan and his own son cementing victory for the empire against the rebels

  4. This is one thing I always felt that anakin as Vader should have said something or indeed stopped it. As a general anakin was actually really smart in terms of strategy and public relations. Not much on that last part but he knew that fear can only go so far before it is used against them

  5. Vader believed in the will of the Force (going by the novelization), He believed that if the Force did not want something like a Deathstar roaming about the Force would see to its destruction, which ultimately did happen as a design flaw led to a pilot who was strong in the Force exploiting it and destroying the Station.

  6. Honestly, Tarkin's death was pretty satisfying, 10/10 would recommend it again.
Bet Vader never thought killing Leia would come back to haunt him, I genuinely think if Luke hadn't given him a chance there he would have just grabbed his lightsaber and ended himself right there. Really feel bad for Bail and Breha tho, finding out their daughter was dead probably destroyed them.
As fun as it is the many ways Sidious can die, sometimes a good old Duel of the Fates is what is really needed.
All in all, a pretty interesting scenario where the Empire wins but it's not completely a terrible thing, specially since the Sith end up dying out and ironically the Jedi actually got the chance to truly return, great story.

What if Anakin was the one captured by the Trandoshans instead of Ashoka, and in their attempts to survive and escape he and O-mer accidentally developed a master-student bond that couldn't be undone and neither was the one he has with Ashoka? I'm curious how Anakin would do if he had to care for two padawans simultaneously instead of just one.

  7. So even though they lost. The rebellion would eventually stilĺ win. They still got their democracy in a democratic empire, slaves would be emancipated over time and palpatine and vader are gone.

However, the empire crushed the rebellion, instilled imperial patriotism, and was even strong enough to eliminate the final order after the death of palpatine.

Well I'd say thats about as neutral as you could get for one of these stories. Great work.

  8. 14:16 Am I reading too much into it, or was Hera telling luke to listen to Obi Wan a subtle reference to Mary Elizabeth being married to Ewan?

Also this definetely feels like it has some inspiration from the 'Pro-empire' version of the first movie… (being about a young boy who commits a terror attack after being inducted by a religious zealot)

You even had a version of the Endor Holocaust…

  9. <Vader voice>. It is most unwise to destroy Alderaan. <Tarkin>. Unwise? Isn't that the whole point of this Battle Station? <Vader> No. The point is not senseless destruction. The point is POWER….and Fear. (Slowly raising a hand in Tarkin, but doesn't initiate a Force Choke. Yet). <Vader continues> POWER need not be used, to strike FEAR, (sarcastically saying the name)Grand Moff Tarkin. Do you not agree? Tarkin tries to maintain a poker face, but fails, turns away. <Tarkin>I…see your point… Lord Vader. Of course, you are correct. Tarkin straightens, gathers himself, strides back to Leia. <Tarkin>Well Princess, it appears you owe Lord Vader your life. And the lives of all on your world. Guards take her away. After she is gone. <Vader> I said nothing of sparing her life. <Tarkin, puzzled> No…but…I had a…feeling it was the right thing to do. <Vader sounding surprised in spite of himself>. Yes. As do I. <Tarkin looks curiously at Vader as Vader looks in the direction Leia has been dragged away, starts to turn away, pauses, looks back then turns and strides off through another hatchway.

  10. Makes sense, because Alderaan, while on the list of possible planets to destroy, was also listed as "Consult the Emperor fist."
This was because Palpatine would have to turn the Imperial propaganda machine against Alderaan for a few weeks first.
