DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS
Dungeons & Dragons (commonly abbreviated as D&D or DnD) is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game (RPG) originally designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson. It was first published in 1974 by Tactical Studies Rules, Inc. (TSR).It has been published by Wizards of the Coast (now a subsidiary of Hasbro) since 1997. The game was derived from miniature wargames, with a variation of the 1971 game Chainmail serving as the initial rule system. D&D’s publication is commonly recognized as the beginning of modern role-playing games and the role-playing game industry.
In January 2012, Wizards of the Coast announced that a new edition of the game, at the time referred to as D&D Next, was under development. In direct contrast to the previous editions of the game, D&D Next was developed partly via a public open playtest. An early build of the new edition debuted at the 2012 Dungeons & Dragons Experience event to about 500 fans. Public playtesting began on May 24, 2012, with the final playtest packet released on September 20, 2013.
Mechanically, 5th edition draws heavily on prior editions, while introducing some new mechanics intended to simplify and streamline play. Skills, weapons, items, saving throws, and other things that characters are trained in now all use a single proficiency bonus that increases as character level increases. Multiple defense values have been removed, returning to a single defense value of armor class and using more traditional saving throws. Saving throws are reworked to be situational checks based on the six core abilities instead of generic d20 rolls. Feats are now optional features that can be taken instead of ability score increases and are reworked to be occasional major upgrades instead of frequent minor upgrades.
Dungeons & Dragons immerses you in a world of adventure. Explore ancient ruins and deadly dungeons. Battle monsters while searching for legendary treasures. Gain experience and power as you trek across uncharted lands with your companions.
The world needs heroes. Will you answer the call?
CURSE OF STRAHD
BURY YOURSELF IN GOTHIC HORROR
Unravel the mysteries of Ravenloft in this dread adventure for the world’s greatest roleplaying game.
Under raging storm clouds, the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind’s howling increases as he turns his gaze down toward the village of Barovia.
Far below, yet not beyond his keen eyesight, a party of adventurers has just entered his domain. Strahd’s face forms the barest hint of a smile as his dark plan unfolds. He knew they were coming, and he knows why they came—all according to his plan.
A lightning flash rips through the darkness, but Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind fills the midnight air. The master of Castle Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited.

  1. YT Premiere of EP. 3 of Hardcore Strahd. If you watched it before, then you would remember “powerful” Rag. If not, Joe’s new character is introduced and it’s still early in the vod.

  2. Admittedly it might be mentioned later on in the stream but Green Flame Blade, Booming blade, sword burst and lightning lure are part of SCAG, they were reprinted in Tasha's.

EDIT: Kinda figured it might show up later given the previous episode getting confused by bladesinger in a similar fashion but hey, at least I get to point out that you might have grabbed the remastered version of bladesong since the number of times per proficiency was from Tasha's. The Scag version was twice per short or long rest. We'll see if that gets caught though. 🙂

  3. Brett needs to learn to let the party just RP and not keep rushing them along or talking over them about mechanics. Even Surefour got to the point of trying to call out why are you rushing along the roleplay.

  4. The fear and hunger references seemed cool until i looked up the source material 🤢

Never seen so much pointless, brutal r fantasy in a non h-game. Deffo going to pretend brett made it up himself

  5. The Lance showing up in the list of one handed martial weapons both makes sense and doesn’t at the same time. The Lance is a two handed weapon only if you’re not mounted. But it’s a one handed weapon if you are mounted.
