Same thing happens ………… Served 4 yrs as an aircraaft commander flying B-52s at K.I. Sawyeer AFB in Marquette, MI from '89 – '93. We sat alert . It was delt with. the Air Force was used to it. No big deal flying in winter conditions. And most of our "de-icing" was the crew chief and a broom, on top of the wing, When it was very heavy thats when we go actually deiced.
Hence we donβt need to spend all of this money on βinvisible bombersβ. A vertical launch cruise missile works just fine. As for fighters, well thatβs another chapter all together.
In some cases, pilots have used the hot exhaust of their aircraft to blow the snow and ice off of other aircraft that also have to fly soon. This is done carefully, because setting your wingman's plane on fire or even melting a few plastic parts on it is very much frowned upon.
It can carry three M113 Tracked Armored Personnel Carriers⦠talk about outdated data, neither the US Army nor the US Marines use these vehicles any longer we both use the M2-3 series.
It would have been nice to see it take off with that much payload. I'm sure with those conditions and that much weight, it would need at least double the distance than without any payload.
I flew F-15Es in Alaska. We didnβt stop flying until the overnight temp was less than -60 F. Of course weβd stopped using a negative sign when talking about winter temps. The howling winds from the engines starting was brutal until we could close the canopy. Especially as the WSO in the back seat where the intakes were right beside me.
I see they still have arseholes running the american bases still bunching aircraft on runways for an attack that will take out 25-30 planes out with one bomb..in one go..been saying it for years cowboys..no wonder you lot got your arses felt in ww2 with pearl harbour never learn u clowns
I mean realistically couldn't they fire one of them bad boys up and let the heat from the exhaust thaw out the other planes if properly parked and measured a certain distance between the jets to make sure they don't get ruined? That's gotta be some warm stuff

"Happy Valley Goose Bay" (shot of Toronto / CN tower 1000 miles / 1700km away) …and back to Happy Valley Goose Bay.
This is as bad as showing the Eiffel tower EVERY time France is mentioned.
As a past resident of NJ, the obvious question is, why don't they have snow plows ? Especially in Sweden. Hello, it snows here.
Should've called it ski-130, they missed a golden opportunity.

I don't think the military is using any aircraft that have carburetors

3:50 ice removed not just by hand, but also by foot.
South Korea is not a member of NATO. Nobody told you? π€π€π€π€
The injection pumps also can freeze.
Even the diesel in the engines can be frozen π

Your choice of location is disappointing, you showed barely freezing temperatures….

Excellent presentation
always ohio ong no cap frfr
I guess the freezing temperatures are caused by rampant global warming.
Catching a cold?
