watching Marss pilot this sexy, stoic, strong, swift character with his rapid-interaction gameplay was what made me a smash fan when I first saw him play back in 2019. Since then, I've spent nearly 1000 hours playing online smash, zss only (ok some ganon). Marss & ZSS represent, to me, the ideal smash ultimate gameplay, way better than the zoning/FP2 slop it's degenerated into

Great video, man! As an ex-ZSS main i can agree with the fact that DLCs, the nerf and the pandemic affected a lot the relevancy of the character… Which is unfortunate because she's extremely fun to watch for how fast she is. I feel the meta became more and more defensive overall. It's either using a zoner and stall, or using a character with busted mechanics. I think Ultimate had a good run before the pandemic, but then became devoid of joy (at least, in my opinion) Good job with the video.

What do you mean by worse movement? If anything, her movement got even better between games.
Also "Hot" Take but the patch nerfs were greatly overblown.
Yeah their not great to have, but they're minor at worst. She didn't drop down multiple tiers because of it. (Honestly the "ZSS Suxs" meme did more harm to her competitve state. lol)
The Smash community tends to exaggerate patches most of the time like how K. Rool got a ton of buffs and still ended up bottom tier. It's nothing compared to how characters get stomped to the ground in the transition of games. (MK Brawl to Sm4sh, Puff Melee to Brawl, etc)
My guess why she is where she is for whatever reason she wasn't able to attract players to her and due to the nature of Ult with so many viable characters, it only made sense not all the Sm4sh Top Tiers would remain at their previous peak.
