I grew up in Syr. New York taxes(Cuomo clan) and leftist policy destroyed the once strong manufacturing hub. It's a shame, as no place or people on this Earth can survive democracy, it is a cancer and has no place.
Seems like ever since the union ran Carrier out of town…
stop trynna make us look good ppl die everyday here .
This is not a forgotten place. I live in NY. All you have to do is look at a map.
Cool video – and I would say accurate!
The city is on the up and up! Massive rennovations to downtown Syracuse, urban renewal projects, and unfortunately some gentrification are beginning to draw people to the area but there's still a lot of work to be done. I think like with all cities, reintroducing meaningful jobs is going to be the way forward. I hope policies can be implemented to make it a desirable location for business.
Same thing that ruined all the other city’s in liberal Democrat control. High taxes high crime terrible leadership
Great story. One big reason for industry leaving was unions pricing themselves out of a job, not that unions are bad. They were good at the time because of past histories of employee abuse and safety. Now bottom line is where can we make it cheaper with labor costs and materials. Look in your closet and your home and try to find where your products are made, you might be surprised.
What happened…Weve been SOLD OUT by the Globalist Ruling Class…theyve created the Chinese menace and the Dimocrats and Republicans held the door for them and the Right hero..Ronnie Rayguns…he presided over the creation of the Rust Belt ,he not only did NOTHING to stop it ..he helped them…and of course our Illegal Invader problem was his creation./the Right needs to chose its heros better…a recent example is that Vile ,Deviant,Perverted Beast../Roseanne Barr,,
This story is the same from Buffalo to Albany, plays like a broken record all along the I-90. All due to New York State high taxes, government regulations and lack of leadership to drive economic reinvestment.
Nothing happened to Syracuse. Its a tech hub, buddy.
lol … Rochester, Utica, Buffalo, … easy commutes.
Lol … medical hub better than about 80% of the the state. Hilarious
nothing happened bro, its still there
Two words HI TAXES
So what happened? Democrats of course,
I now have the urge to make some Syracuse salt potatoes…
Right off the bat… "Syracuse" isn't pronounces "Sehracuse" it's like the words "Syrup" or "Syria". "SEEracuse"
interesting how you still can't find a job here or go to a close city for one either this city is still nothing but hospital jobs which are hard to get into and service jobs which no sane person wants to do for more than a year. unless you wanna be in the medical field or poor don't move to this city and if you're still here just leave.
My brother goes to syracuse. It really has fallen apart. Its sad because the city used to be so vibrant. But it still has a subtle beauty and charm
If you are thinking of moving here, don’t. And hope you don’t own a Kia or Hyundai. They are stolen every night, doesn’t matter what year you have.
Syracuse tries to make downtown look high end, it’s full of different gangs. There are homeless people tweaking on drugs on every corner & off of every off-ramp. The highways are dangerous and poorly constructed. People can’t drive. The roads are never fixed. There’s killings every night. Even in the good neighborhoods there’s shit going on. A sexual assault ring was just busted in Baldwinsville. Do yourself a favor and DON’T move here.
If I could have built a quality life in Syracuse, I would love to live in the village of Baldwinsville!
I was born at st joes in the 60s.
Grandad worked as a tool and die maker at carrier.
You wanna know what killed syracuse?
The damn eighties.
I watched ALL of the factories leave or greatly reduce ppl in the eighties.
Globalism. GATT, NAFTA WTO
lifting foreign labor for domestic company laws, lifting import tariffs, telling us we were shifting to a service economy. Thats what happened.
The bastiges gutted millions of jobs in hindreds of cities. All so they can make fortunes off currency and international trade.
Evil evil ppl.
Im a fifth generation metal worker but im a artisan blacksmith. I come from five generations of machinists, tool and die makers. Boiler men.
greed killed my city, and many others.
Globalist scum
I was born here in Syracuse, New York at St. Mary’s Maternity Hospital, and I still live here.
I worked in Syracuse. As with most of the manufacturing in our country all of the manufacturing was sent over seas. I worked at Carrier, it was bought by United Technologies, a French company that planned all along to send much of it over seas and did mass layoffs. Syracuse is a run down city, the main employers are the hospitals and Syracuse University. It's too expensive and run horribly, thus people leaving the State in the thousands. It's also a Sanctuary City, we've all seen what happens to these cities.
Micron about to change this. 100B/10 yr investment. Keep up to date with current events, may benefit future videos.
If SU only had a decent basketball team or football team…😅 goooo orange 🍊
81 overpasses which cuts through the heart of the city is being torn down to give the city a much needed facelift…. However traffic into downtown will be a nightmare waiting to happen.
There is a Victorian home I want to save there. Thinking of moving it out of the burbs and into the country side for location reasons.
Mayors started stealing money got caught. Millions for roads disappear, factories left. There is nothing but drug loads guns and kids killing kids. I live close by but don’t pass into the city anymore. Rents 1000.00 a month rats, roaches broken windows no one does shit except talk about fixing it. I worked at carrier Corp governor Cuomo told us he was spending 8.6 million to keep carrier Corp in Syracuse less than a year later carrier used that money to move to Mexico cheap labor, no issues with polluting water, ground. That’s why they moved to Mexico I lost my job at carrier engineering research, and development.
looks like Ukraine… except without receiving billions of dollars from the corrupt US government
The 13 percent that's what
