Period products are taxed under “luxury goods,” so that’s probably what you’re thinking of Lauren. Most basic necessities are tax exempt whereas period products are still taxed.

I am 13 years old and have had my period for 3 years now. I use about 4 for the first three days and 2 for the last two days so thats about 16 per period

I used to use a LOT of tampons probably 4 or 5 in a day and then I had a super tampon at night as well as a full pad because I would always bleed through. This would go on for about three to four days. I would also get period cramps so bad they would make me sick and pass out multiple times a day! SO FUN! Now that I am on birth control my cramps are almost nonexistent and I only bleed for maybe 3 days and I only use about 1 or 2 a day and nothing at night(no pad no tampon nothing). Also I have definitely left a tampon in for maybe 12 hours….eek
I’m definitely a member of the toe sock fam. . . Definitely not weird right?

Here’s a little piece of info…. Female dogs can also get toxic shock too our fur baby almost died from it!!! She went in to her first heat (neither of us had had a female doggo before) she swelled shut! It was terrifying rushed her to an emergency vet and had to be there for like 2 full days …. We got her fixed before her next heat because we were traumatized and didn’t want to worry about it again

I am lucky. I use 3-4 pads in the first half and then 2-1 during the back half. Also love the classic Lauren, Jeremy, and producer Devin. It made me laugh so hard. Was listening as I prepared for bed.

Tampon is not as common as pads here. We mostly use pads, and I use around 20-24 pads per cycle.
I've saved up quite a significant amount of my budget by switching to menstrual cups (I have 2 and I love the 2nd one I bought, which is a collapsible one) since the beginning of the pandemic.
I can't use tampons due to SA history so I'm stuck with pads, and I bleed for 14+ days so that's about 42 pads.

I use pads, and thankfully my period usually is 3-4 days, but holy hell my period packs a punch and I have a very very heavy flow, to the point that it is diagnosable. I sometimes have to change my pads every 30 minutes and when I sleep o wake up every 2-3 hours to change my pad. I’m in so much pain on my period that there is no risk of sleeping longer. I legitimately spend the first 2 1/2 days in bed or in the bath. I probably go through 30+ per cycle and since I’m peri menopausal sometimes I have 2 periods a month or I go 6-8 weeks in between periods. It’s wild. I also use super, overnight with wings and sometimes question if I should just use depends because it would be easier, but also towards the end I use pant liners. Ahhh the female body is interesting. But also my body made 4 beautiful boys. So I am grateful.
Pink tax is the additional tax on “feminine hygiene” products and also companies markup the price of pink products.
I probably do a total of about 20 to 25 tampons and like 7 to 10 pads:)

Hahah such a great episode! There actually is can be additional tax on tampons (separate from the "pink tax") because period supplies can be taxed as a "luxury good" – it varies from state to state but it's a thing… 🤦♀

What about the pain killers? I'm lucky (and stubborn) and will only do them if I'm dying, so I'll take maaaybe 1, ocasionally 2 ibuprofen pills from time to time, but I definitely know people who get horrible pains and need to go with something much stronger for most of their period.

Me = 20 tampons a cycle … Day 1 = 2 (regular) … Day 2 = 6 (Super) … Day 3 = 6 (Super) … Day 4 = 5 (Super) … Day 5 = 1 (regular) and then Period Underwear … Day 6 = Period Underwear

My ornaments are my most prized items. If there was a fire that would be the thing other than my dogs I would morn the most over losing. Though they are near the door incase that shall ever happen. All of them are from childhood, trips, things we love over the years, marriage ones, etc… They're literally so small but so sentimental! They're perfect! Also I have a really heavy flow so I go through a lot of tampons and a lot of panties… I couldn't even tell you how many at this point. After my first vaccine from you know I ended up going to the ER for bleeding golf ball sized blood clots so… Yeah… And my period at that time lasted 37 days… So that was fun… ANYWAYS, happy holidays!!!!

I recently saw an ad for a menstrual disc and supposedly it empties everytime you pee. I'm so intrigued.
I'm averaging like 35-40ish tampons, and 6 or 7 pads.
When it comes to the Pink/Tampon Tax a company I discovered recently called August they sell pads, tampons & panty liners. When you place an order they cover the Tampon Tax cost of in your state so you don't have to! Another cool thing is their pads break down within 1yr & you can give back to charity as well with your purchase. I plan on ordering from them soon! Also "the period company" sells period panties for $12 for anyone looking for an alternative, they are also toxin free.
For me I usually have my period for 6-10 days and for the first 4 days go through 7 every day. at night I use pads
so i use pads and during the front half of my period its like 3/day so 3×3=9 and the back half its 2 a day 3×2=6 so it’s like 15 pads a period but honestly i think mine is pretty light so idk if its an accurate average just me

I've never thought about how many tampons I use on my period but thinking about it now I don't use enough considering mine last 3 to 4 weeks and nobody has enough money for that considering in nz a 12 pack are like $15 I wish I could find a pack of 40 for $12
