Not sure if it means much, but at least we know they're listening, even if it is minimal listening. It gives me a little hope, but I'm not gonna be naive about it
New releases and gameplay tweaks wont save the game, just prolong its peak era.
Its cool and all, but the game/ranked mode at its core still needs big changes

I’m hopeful but also there’s still many, very important things thst need to be worked on, first and foremost COMMUNICATION between the developers and the community. Until that happens, everything they put out actually means very little in the long run. We cannot sustain a game with this kind of relationship between the developers and the players. This ain’t even touching matchmaking and ranked, which are the next biggest problems.
Wild Rift have a Duo/Trio Q, and it works actually kind of ok. It tries to queue up Duos + Trios (5) in the same team or Duos + 3 Solos, and the experience isn't that bad, the only thing is that, WR has Legendary Queue which is solo only and yeah, is the most competitive one of the bunch for a long shoot.
That Azumarill went crazy lol, that Quadra was kinda nasty.
It’s a step in the right direction. If the game was in fact dying this is going to give it extra time and give them more time to add additional features to the game to make us happy. It seems they drag their feet until the player base shrinks to a dangerously low level then they make changes. If they add major changes 1, maybe 2 more times we will have everything we want in the game.
I’ve already noticed an uptick in the amount of players on the game in the last week or so and it’ll only get better when these changes come.
So moral of the story it’s good but just go with caution. Cause I haven’t played in moths but keep up to date with the going ons of the game. and I’m on the copeium that this will bring me back if done well.
Some ppl are bitching about the draft picks saying that it will make games longer
I’m split on my opinion of trios. I play in a trio with some high school friends once a week, and if trios didn’t exist we wouldn’t be able to play this game together.
You are right that trios inherently have the greatest influence on a match, but it’s already possible for individual players to make game throwing decisions. I can’t count how many times I’ve had bad junglers die at 2:15 and are down to start Rayqauza, people back cap and insignificant amount while our entire team is down and their team is ripping, score 20 points or something while leaving a goal undefended allowing the other team to score 200-300, etc. There’s a lot of ways individual players can cost a game. But on the flip side, it’s a lot harder for an individual player to carry to a win now. You have to be extremely good at this game to have an equal but opposite impact on a game vs a terrible player who makes game throwing decisions for ten minutes. For that reason I’m ok with trios existing because there can only be a net benefit, and not anything worse than what we deal with in solo as is. Three bad solo players can throw just as easily as a trio, but a communicating and good trio can do more work to help secure a win.
I do however think that trios should only pair with duos, not with two other solo players. That way there’s a better chance that the trio doesn’t have two absolutely terrible players they’re trying to carry. Sure that could still happen with a duo, but at the very least that duo is likely communicating.
The truth is there’s no golden solution for Unite’s soloq problems, but overall I think trios are fine for the game. I’d rather see them make other changes like having jungle griefers be reportable, blocking players so that you can’t queue with them, better in game communication, 8 in game messages rather than 4, etc. Those changes will have a greater impact, along with drafts.

i really appreciate you adding your perspective to the discussion.
you have a unique view on the current state of affairs as someone coming more from the "other mobas, past and present" angle, rather than the "lifelong pokemon fan, maybe played league/dota for six months in college" angle, like most of us.
it's really important for us to be able to recognize what's wrong with the game, what's good about the game, and what tencent could change to improve the game if they want it to last, etc.
you're adding something that only you can add to the discussion: your perspective, your opinions, and most importantly, your personality.

The PTS and leakers are kinda annoying and ruin the hype
I very much agree, with the PTS killing character hype.
But then again as the game is now. It would really suck for the first week you get paid walled, and everyone else can play and figure out the new character a week before you can.
Idgaf about bans because there aren’t enough mons for bans and there’s really no game breaking champ but no mirror matches is so much more healthy for the game
I'm hoping/assuming solo has its own ladder, more good items make me want 4th item slot again though we won't get it.
and que changes don't necessarily equate to better matchmaking I'd have to see the exact wording they used,
but it does make me hesitant.
But long as the new items don't get nerfed I foresee several formerly bad moves becoming good/potentially viable.

The changes are so good i don't even want to play the game anymore until they're implemented. Give me draft mode asap. Finally fixed matchmaking. Potentially a soloq leaderboard that i can actually grind. I'm hyped but not actually
As a moba, draft makes total sense. As a Pokémon IP tho, mirror matches are common haha, trainers can have the same mon
Thats how PTS works for every moba tho. Its the best way to nerf/buff new pokemon. Its done exactly the same way in League. The new changes point to the right direction. My biggest issue is probably just the cap on coins. Everything else is kinda good with me
These upcoming additions are just putting lipstick on a pig, its making it look better but in reality it's still a pig. They are making changes while keeping the core problems of the game there. The fact the game pushes everyone to masters is what makes the game feel bad to play. The game will never grow while having this fundamental flaw in a core mechanic of the game
For me personally, I only have like 2 or 3 friends that play, it helps me play with friend without excluding anyone(referring to trio)
I hope draft only starts when you are in masters. I do want to keep playing, just bit worried about q time, have to see how it implemented. I don't mind playing till masters then stopping or smurfing
im super excited for the future of unite. i think the new features will make the game actually feel playable (thank god for a ban system!), and the upcoming items are also something im super stoked about. hopefully the game will grow with the changes because i honestly want this game to become an actual competitive experience!
I find it weird that everyone is praising it when the most brought up issue is still alive well and obvious. Licenses are getting more expensive and if they aren’t as aeos coins then they are gem only+holowear for like 2 weeks. Then it becomes aeos coins and is still expensive. It almost feels like a distraction and everyone is eating it up.
I think it’s safe to say nothing will change we should just expect licenses to be expensive forever now
The first time I saw duo/trio queue I was like, why is it not solo/duo? So I pretty much agree with you there.
From my experience, there is no way a solo player can defend against three coordinated players diving him in an even game state. If 3 players come to my lane and I am alone because my teammate decides to afk or go somewhere else, I have to stand behind my pad or abandon it. There is just no way to defend unless I have an advantage. That is why, in my opinion, solos should not queue against trios.
Separating the leaderboard is important as well. It gives solo queue players achievements to work towards. I heard from someone that leaderboards count quick matches as well? If so, that should be fixed to ranked mode only.

Been playing dragapult and I'm really enjoying shadow ball/dragon dance with crown, muscle and red scarf. Crown and shadow ball give you solid sustain and red scarf and muscle allow u to just shred with autos.
I really dont get why its a bad thing players are wanting this change to unite and tencent is doing what they can and yet theres still a lot of criticism……
I dunno how they decide matchmaking but for sure they have a better picture or data of the playerbase of unite, i just hope that the decision they make will help make matchmaking better for player experience.
It is fair that you’re skeptical since you’ve been talking about this 2 main changes, draft and separate queues. Hope it works out in the end

That's why I find it funny when the unite community and the content creators say the game gets stale or boring. I agree it does… but it doesn't help when ElchicoEevee drops crazy content …everyone's happy for like a day…and we all just sit and wait for the stuff we already prepared for
This is why I don't usually watch the videos where everyone talking about the new leaks… so now we're making ourselves bored and there won't be any "New content" cuz someone will tell us weeks/months ahead. Yet people have the audacity to be bored with this game
HOPEFULLY in the future there will be top locals leaderboard system, just like in mobile legend.
it's really sad we been bugging about the wrong thing you know one that hurts this game and I thought about this for a long time. Is over scoring yes that's right it almost makes it impossible to comeback not only your behind in goals but no idea how behind you really are and you got stupid teamates busting goals with 5 points. I'm telling you without overscoring this game would be so more balanced and fun and competitive to the last minutes even with stupid teamates. So how would it work when you bust a goal it only takes away the that's needed and the speed of it too. What's makes it worst is we don't have a scoreboard so players have no clue the effect there having when they break with small points. in a weird way zap kinda balance it because how much points you where able to comeback with. Requaza in theory is balance but because how hard you can snowball with overscoring it's just not enough points to overcome so the comeback mechanic just doesn't really work anymore that's why there buffing Rayquaza
How bout this? Just dont play the pts. If there wasnt a pts youd be bitching that they need one
Are we really not gonna talk about the satisfying 3-man KO Azumarill had at 5:55? He had no reason to be buffed (coming from a day 1 Aqua Tail only Azumarill player).
The leaks actually mean “ get excited for the game , then play one game with same single brain celled teammates and leave the game again”
The ban system is a lil step in the right direction and for the split latter I got the feeling this is the most they are willing to give us, because they want it casual and they don´t want the queue to get too long.
I think it basically just comes down to this… we have to wait and see 🤷♂️. It all depends on if everything is implemented correctly or if they just half ass the new features.
Welp, at least we'll be able to ban overtuned Pokémon if they release them, maybe that makes them take back the temporary gems-only for new releases, I doubt that though.

Agree with pts statement…..it really kills the hype, and the you have to experience serious inflation in the game, gem lock and now skin+gem lock…I haven't even bought zoroark
Its a step in the right direction for sure but we really should be getting the QOL improvements with sabeleye not having to wait 17 + days.
2:29 there is PTS, but now it is also 1 week that we need to wait, to buy new pokemon for coins, that kill hype even more.
