  1. The idea of a German attack on the US at the beginning of the 20th century would have been a foolish attempt. The US already had a comparable world class Navy and it was also growing in size rapidly at the time, catching up with Britain

    it would take a massive amount of ships to keep supply lines open to their soldiers in a naval invasion and it would probably end with all of Germany's men and equipment captured in the Americas.

    Also the US would 100% guarantee the Monroe Doctrine if the Germans tried to take any country in the region. Because Britain already settled with the US on where both their colonial influences and Navy would be in the world at the time, Britain recognized the Monroe Doctrine and probably would have fought alongside the US on any German attempt to take any possession in the Americas. They had an interest to let the US lock in the politics and borders of the Western world while they were focused anyways in being the dominant navy in the Far East.

  2. Kaiser Wilhelm went from one extreme to the other proving that he was untrustworthy and systemically alienating potential allies. This behaviour, with the discontinuation of the Treaty of the Three Emperor's, dismissal of Bismarck and the Naval Arms Race with Britain, were one of the few causes of WWI. War with Britain could have been prevented if the Naval Arms Race did not happen and the invasion of Belgium who's neutrality was protected by the Treaty of London 1839.

  3. If only– If my Aunt had Balls she'd be my Uncle. Wilhelm the Second , Like Hitler, were their own worst enemy's. The kaiser was envious of British and French Empires, and set his eyes on fulfilling his dream; hence the Arms Race with Britain, without which, Britain would defend it's place in the world , reguardless. Apart from Coal, Britain had few natural raw materials, to feed it's Industrial might, which had been superceded by Germany's production BUT. This superiority was already under threat from America's fast growing output.
    A little known fact—-In aproximately 1905, The German Kaiser ordered a top secret plan, for his Navy to 'Stalk' and photograph Americas Eastern Coast line, for possible landing places, in a future War with the USA. Not many people know that.

  4. Unrealistic fantasies!
    Instead of focusing on their own country and the basic necesities of their citizens, they claimed some far away land on the other side of the globe. The leaders said they bring civilization to other parts of the world but didn't see what colossal donkeys are they themselves.

  6. Considering the Ottomans recognized an Armenian rump state, you might have seen Germany try to expand into Armenia, portraying themselves as Christian brothers saving them from Turkish terror (maybe even playing into the HRE sentiment) while also allowing themselves to gain more influence in the Caucasus.

  7. In 1870 Germany liberated the French from the true despotism of Napoleon III. reign – correctly described. The translation of "Reich" to Empire is already a british propaganda lie. The words of the German national anthem do not form a senseless rhyme. Since the beginning of modern times German and British principles were completely different. You cannot compare a few decades of investment with hundreds of years of exploitation and slavery.The german colonies were of no relevant economical worth and just one fatal example of adapting to the british role model due to Wilhelms unfortunate british familiary bounds. Whenever Germany sucked in american and british influence it all went bad. Nowadays Germanys main error continues.

  8. some quick note(s):
    League of Three Emperors was attempted twice. First time it failed cause Russia wasnt too keen to ally with germany, as is noted that when Bismarck was preparing to invade France as a response to their rearmanent, Russian Emperor said that Russia will invade Germany from East, if Germany invades west.

    Second time Bulgaria had rebelion against ottomans, and Austria decided to join in on the fun, which angered russians as they were the main supporters of bulgaria (influence and all) so the alliance was called back.

    The League never was a formal alliance, in fact, at best, Bismarck could only go so far as a trade deals and support against rebelions. and even then, it was cause the British would never try and allign with germany, cause Pax Britanica.

    Thats all i wanted to add.

  9. 1:35 Are you kidding me? "Ostiedlung" is 100% crap! Try: "Ostsiedlung". It is a compound noun made up of two idioms: OST + SIEDLUNG. Can we try to give, the beautiful and precise German language, a little more respect?
