  1. Chiefs were blitzing a lot, which meant the RB had to pass block a lot. Montgomery is just a better pass blocker.

I suspect the split will be closer to 50/50 in the future.

  2. The Lions D Line looks menacing. They were in the backfield all night bringing Mahomes to the ground seemingly every pass play that he didn’t run. Additionally, their secondary is much improved from last year. Multiple plays where Mahomes had no one to throw to for several seconds

  3. Detroit didn't play the game good enough to win. It's the Chiefs that played too badly. The Chiefs should have started to run more as they were up by 3 and more importantly when they were up 20-14.

The Chiefs were too used to winning games easily and tried to run up the score. They were caught off guard with the injury to Kelcie. They need him back ASAP to right the ship.

The Chiefs needed a more consistent running game to balance out the passing attack. TE were also not used to chip block and non-existant in passing attack. Toney should have been benched after the second drop, especially after the pick six.

  4. As a bengals fan I’m so happy to see the lions doing well. A big win to start the season, I remember how excited everyone in Cincinnati was in 2021 when the bengals were making it happen for the first time in a long time. Such an important moment for the Lions!! 🦁

  5. What excited me was i felt like we kept all of our good tricks and schemes in the back pocket for later and got it done with just the basics. Excited to see these Lions get into their rhythm

  6. There is just too much whining about the KC drops. The Lions had some drops, a fumble around the KC 10 yard line, when they were poised for another TD, several no calls on KC for holding, a missed interception on a high throw from Mahomes, not to mention the uncalled false starts. Yet the Lions overcame all of that. That's what good teams do. They find a way to win when things are not going their way. The Lions are a good team. They just went into Arrowhead and beat the Super Bowl Champions right after they rolled out their championship banner. The Lions were rude guests. It's only one game, but this Lion team will have to be dealt with. This is not the same old Lions. Now everybody knows.
