What Are The Best Diesel Engines Ever?

As you guys might’ve noticed, we’ve made a lot of different videos about diesel engines. At the end of the day, there are a lot of really cool engines out there, but some of them are better than others, and because of that I wanted to make a list of what I consider to be the best diesel engines of all time.

Keep in mind, this list isn’t in really any particular order, because quite frankly I don’t think it’s fair to outright claim one diesel as the best of all of them, because they all have pros and cons and some are better at specific tasks than others.

  2. What are good swap engines for 1500 and 2500 pickups. Also tranny combos?
I have a ecodiesel and ram 3500 24v but would love to do a swap or two for pickups someday. Blown up ecodiesel rams are a dime a dozen. A 4bt swap or ??? To that 8 speed trans would sure be sweet but not sure it’s even possible.
Love my 35 to 40 mpg imperial eco but to many people say good one second and gone the next.

  3. No way. I blew up Cummins engine twice, and Detroit one too. Engine design might be great. But, as always in America, American workers work ethics are so low that engine assembled in America does not last for long.

It is already proven in auto or semiconductor industry.

You got to find out durability of engine rather than design and number of service location.

  4. High idle, miserable low end torque, can't rev, extremely heavy, smelly, noisy. Fragile injection system. Its great for a boat or stationary engine.
Liked the Iveco diesel in my Santana PS 10 but the V8 in my Land Rover was better for offroading.

  5. Ford ran a power max in South America in the super duty which was the Cummins 4bt and later offered the 12v for a short run. Also, in Australia ford used the 7.3 during the US 6.0 run so Australia never had to deal with that nightmare.
