WH40k: Rogue Trader (Alpha) – Ep. 28: Lower Deck Spectations

Today, we investigate a once-inhabited system, and who knows what we’ll find? Reluctant allies? Harmful agents? Something in-between?

I’ll admit, we’re going into this one with lower deck spectations.

00:00 Lower deck spectations.
10:46 Harmful agents.
36:25 Exit strategy. (Combat)
42:46 Raise deck spectations. (Abelard)
46:54 Outro & Special Thanks!

  1. The collapsed elevator shaft in the bunker on Oasis V mentioned something about needing a mining team to clear it, and when you left the bunker the planet still had a little roundish icon on it. I'm wondering if that meant you could do something to clear that from the planet view? Might be nothing, but it also might be worth scooting back to check.

  2. Pretty sure its quest location, the signet the collapsed mining part. Its possible that the lower level is still inhabited.

As for why Winterscale arranged a little deathmatch, maybe there was something valuable on the planet. And he wanted to conceal it… dead tell no tales afterall.

Also pretty sure Nobilty would pay pretty penny for some nice civil war footage.

  3. starallies… so its not really winterscale planet than? its more independent? so support both factions and whoever wins will than be your ally? but both lost… so experiment failed. maybe that? or is start war and see what will they came up with when desperate and than harvest their ideas and possible technology?

  4. I think the dead guy with the messed up breathing filter was the saboteur. He thought he could make it out, but he didn't check his mask first. He should have realized that the same neglect that made his job easy and let rats into the suits for visiting the surface could have compromised his escape.

  5. Weapons and rations cost money, selling to both sides maximizes profit. The defense turrets on the other hand really should've started facing the other way, since the game has no facing (afaik) it wouldn't matter for the fight but the guns really should be pointed at the enemy not the ones they're supposed to protect from the enemy. Still, an alpha and they may even fix the turret models (twin-linked lascannons would be proper scary).
