  1. And that is the amazing writing of two guys who were done with game of thrones who had been working on another project that got turned down by HBO, who just wanted GOT to be over … GOT was not their passion to make shows was their passion and this project had turned into a decade of the same o thing they should of done the right thing and turned it over to someone else who actually cared

  2. In the show they skipped a big part of the prophecy the witch tells young Cersi. In the Books the witch says that her brother would kill her (you’ll die with his around your throat). That’s a big reason Cersi hates Tyrion so much. She thinks he’s fated to kill her. But having Jamie, the brother that she loves, kill Cersi instead would have made more sense. Instead they both get killed by falling rubble.

  3. Everyone saying ‘there were signs of her being insane the whole series’ is wrong. She was always kind at her heart. She wanted to free people and let them live happily, just like her brother Rhaegar. It was the show writers who thought that was too predictable and they ‘kind of forgot about’ everything previous seasons had set up in character development. Jamie’s character did a 180, so dis Dany’s and Jon just looks like he has no clue what’s going on. It’s wild how drastically this show slipped without GRRM to write the plot for them

  4. This is the only show I've ever watched where the final season has been so bad it made me lose all interest in the show as a whole. I can't even rewatch the earlier seasons because I know nothing matters in the end.

  5. This might be my favorite episode of the show. Like, I understand why it was so disliked at first. It truly hurts to see our heroes fall short of our expectations but that feels so realistic to me. I also love the way this episode reframes the entire conflict. All of a sudden, our heroes are the villains, and the villains are victims. It feels like the classic subversion that this show does so well. I also like how Jon's parentage is used not to save the world but to doom it. In any other traditional fantasy, the "secret prince who saves the world" trope would leas to a happy ending. In Game of Thrones it leads to death and destruction.

I understand why this might put people off but to me, it's exactly why I love Game of Thrones.

  6. I do think that much of the dislike of this episode comes from a misunderstanding of what Dany does. She doesn't burn Kings Landing "for no reason." She does it because, in her mind, even if she wins the throne without bloodshed, her rule will never be secure. That's why she says "Let it be fear" when Jon rejects her. She isn't saying this because Jon doesn't want to screw her or whatever, she's doing this because Jon can't marry her. As a result, she has two choices: either she murders Jon, someone she clearly loves, thereby ensuring that his claim can't be used to sabotage her rule or she burns Kings Landing, thereby sending a message of fear to the rest of Westeros. The point being that, no matter what Jon and Dany want, Jon's parentage can and WILL be used to undermine Daenerys, as long as Jon lives, because unfortunately that's what a patriarchal society like Westeros encourages. And because people were paranoid of what Dany might do when pushed to far. In that way, it was a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Also, the idea of "lets bomb a city as collective punishment and to sow fear throughout the populace" is scarily prescient. Just look at history and what's going on in the world now.

  7. So sad. Nobody in this story nor on youtube, cares about Jon's happiness. Being King is not going to bring him happiness. All people care about is seeing a crown on his head. Then what? "Heavy is the head that wears the crown". I would rather see him with a wife and children who love him.

  8. People always seem to think Daenerys snapping was out of nowhere. Upon multiple rewatches you are able to pinpoint dozens of times where her irrationality would've led her to mass murder but she has always been counseled against it by Jorah, Missandei and Tyrion. She even suggested this act way back in like season 4 when she says "whats stopping me from riding down to the red keep and burning it down". Also when she realized her one goal which was the iron throne was being threatened and that she doesn't have the love of the people she decided to just go all out. Plus the death of 2 of her dragons and Missandei who was really her best companion she finally embraced that other side.
This isn't out of her character like most viewers seem to think, she had compassion but it was driven by her goal of attaining the iron throne which goes above the love, safety care of the people because she believes she would rebuild the kingdom in her vision anyways. This was also foreshadowed when she said "im going to break the wheel"

  9. I don’t know, him abandoning his sister/woman he has loved all of his life and their unborn child to die would have been out of character. I think part of him would have rather stayed in his new life with the woman who makes him feel like the honorable knight he wanted to be, but it would have been more out of character for him to leave Cersei and their child to die after so many years with her. Not everything has to follow the predictable, stereotypical character arcs we are used to. Real life doesn’t work that way.

  10. I like the way Dani's character went, story wise. The signs were all there from the beginning and I like the warning of how someone so devoted for justice can be blind to the atrocities done for that cause. Execution of the idea is another thing.
