This building in Howrah painted in the colours of the National Flag houses a workshop that churns out lakhs of Tricolours every year. Owner Raju Halder and his team of 20 workers are in the process of making 2.5 lakh flags that will be sent to states like Bihar, Odisha, Punjab, Haryana and other states, besides being supplied to Kolkata. The family has been in the business of making Tricolours since 1947, and Raju took up the business after the demise of his father. This time, business has been stronger due to the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ call given by the Prime Minister. The entire three-storey house has been turned into a factory with machines, cloth and fibre strewn all over. It takes not more than 2-3 minutes to stitch a flag on a machine. And 10 flags can be printed with the Ashok Chakra at the centre in a minute.
