  1. 1:29:00 A couple years ago I had to cancel Telus internet and after i phoned them and spoke to someone who could change my service (so it wasnt like i called the tech support line or anything, he could have cancelled my service) but I had to wait until someone phoned me the next day with offers and reject their offers multiple times before they would cancel my service.

And I was cancelling because I was moving somewhere that they didnt offer service.

I should ahve filed a complaint, but I was too busy with moving.

  2. Not sure this applies everywhere, but some ISP's provide phone tech support to their emails for no additional charge: Explaining how to log in, recovering passwords, helping un-hack them, recovering lost emails, and helping set up various POP/IMAP clients. Totally agree it's a shady practice to lock in users to that ISP, but that support is something a lot of customers, especially non-tech-savvy ones, find very valuable.

  3. There is absolutely nothing confusing about prime. I have redeemed free trials many times and have cancelled it just as easily. Sometimes when I completely forget I got a refund anyways within a couple of minutes of chatting to support.

  4. 15:58:50 In a lot of ways i suspect it isnt more or less tech savvy but differently tech savvy.

People growing up today are probably a lot worse than what people my age think about, worthing through the technical issues, dealing with jank, etc.

But at the same time I find the typical younger person much better at picking up new programs and stuff and better at combining various technology into their lives.

The skills and knowledge that your average person needs today to get through technology are different and their knowledge and skillsets are different accordingly.

Its kind of like when you see the person saying how 20 year olds these days dont know how to drive because they cant drive a standard and change oil.
