My name is Niko, and I live in Odsherred Zoo Rescue, home to over 600 animals. We give a safe home to rescue animals from all over Europe, many of whom have been victims of animal testing, the illegal pet trade, or neglect and abuse.
We have many different animals here in the rescue, ranging from our big cats, lynxes, lemurs, foxes, camels, chameleon, iguana, racoons, gibbons, marmosets, porcupines, goats, horses, llamas, servals, vervet monkeys, and many, many more.

Rescue animal stories:
One of the more recent rescue stories is Kato, the beautiful big cat. He is a Caracal or desert lynx and was rescued from a private person in french that kept him in his apartment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-P1I9pN5r0

The fur-farm foxes:
Another recent story is about the last fur-farm foxes in Denmark, where we were part of a group of foxes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3gafJ56hjw

Here at Odsherred Zoo Rescue, it is not only the most exotic animals like the big cats and foxes we rescue. We see many private people obtain animals that are either illegal pets or as small as guinea pigs and do not realize how big the commitment to caring for any animal can be. Because of that, the animals end up here in the rescue zoo, where we are ready to give them a good home.

We hope to educate and inspire with our animal rescue stories that we need to take better care of our animals and nature.

Subscribed the first time you were on Girl with the Dogs a few months back, but never get my personalised notifications & you are never in my recommended feed either.   13. Just came here after Vanessa's video. Great channel! The first thing I watched was Anton and Falah's video. That was wonderful, I've never seen anything on Bactrian camels before. Looking forward to seeing more! I've got notifications turned on. 😁 Now I'm off to see the desert lynx…

    Jeg vidste ikke engang der var en rescue zoo i Danmark!
    Hvor er det fantastisk at se at der er plads til dyr som ellers ikke ville have et sted at være, eller endnu værre, var blevet brugt til dyreforsøg og aflivet.

  25. For any one that has a hard time with hearing about animals dying the fox documentary might be a little hard of a watch. I was definitely triggered by some of the more unfortunately turn of events. Not anything to do with this rescue, just horrible people. Thank you SO much for helping the animals that you can! I will never watch the fox documentary again but I absolutely love the cute videos of happy animals. I also really love when you have the keeper explain exactly what she does and WHY she does it. Like explaining target training. The enrichment training ones are my favorite though. I think a lot of people that hate Zoos don't understand why all those animals just aren't released into the wild. The enrichment videos ( I remember one of you trying to feed lemurs a nut they would normally eat and most of them not being able to open it.) I think are a great way of showing why that's not always the best option for the animal. I also just love that you do take the effort to get them the natural treats they would have had if they had been born wild. I would love to see a explanation video of the breeding program. (I might have missed it, also have been subscribed since the first shout out, seems like lots of people didn't get notified.)
