Weather Update: One More Hot Day, Sea Breezes Save Long Island From The Worst

Today was a fairly hot summer like day across the area with highs reaching 90-93 degrees across most areas on Long Island not right on the water, a pronounced sea breeze dropped temps into the 70s on South Shore after 1-2pm, and into the low 80s in the middle island areas after 3-4pm. The sea breeze brought a very impressive temp drop especially in Suffolk with temps dropping 15 degrees or more within 10-20 minutes!
Tomorrow we’ll see a repeat of the heat, maybe a few degrees cooler but I think most of us will get close to or reach 90. Cooler again on the South Shore. We’ll have more instability around especially with the cold front approaching in the evening, so we’ll see chances for thunderstorms, the severe threat is most likely over New Jersey where it will once again swelter in the mid 90s. Much more comfortable weather by Monday with sun & high clouds.

  2. Happy Saturday bro, hopefully you had a great day today. Mine was ok, woke up, spent a few hours trying to fix my damn mower, went grocery shopping, had Flatbread pizza for dinner, watched Miami Heat v Boston Celtics and now I'm watching Chicago Fire, having a couple beers. It was hot as hell today, low 90s for a high. Tomorrow's gonna be hot, around 90 with storms in the afternoon. Next week isn't looking too bad, low to upper 70s for highs with a couple rain chances but that's pretty much it.

  4. Hey guess what!!! Both you and Augiri were wrong about the Temps for Saturday!! You said 92 and she said 84. From what I saw It only got to 74 where I was on LI…… but this was at 5pm Bellport

  5. It's pretty brutal today here, 90 F. or so, feeling like 94, I had to go do food shopping and it was hell. Well at least the market was nice and cold, so I didn't sweat my ass off. This is
    what happens when you live in a decent nabe that is also a food desert for some stupid goddamned reason.
