The warm ridge of high pressure in the Eastern US continues to produce record highs in parts of the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic. We have one more day of record warmth before a cold front passes. A series of waves on that front will bring showery rains Sunday into Monday along with lower temperatures. Colder air will move in Tuesday bringing frosts and freezes much of the US east of the Rockies to the East Coast. Some models hinting at another wave of low pressure and a cold rain for Tuesday night into Wednesday which could be sleet or even wet snow well inland.
