“We Should Not Be Ceding Sovereignty” Shadow Home Secretary Calls For Axing Of Chagos Islands Deal

Mike Graham and Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp discuss the controversial Chagos Islands deal.

Philp criticised the Labour Government’s plan to transfer sovereignty to Mauritius, highlighting the strategic importance of the Diego Garcia base and the financial implications.

He also criticised the cancellation of the Rwanda deterrent for illegal immigration. He emphasised the need for a new approach to immigration, focusing on high-skilled, high-wage migrants and increasing domestic workforce participation.

He advocated for more investment in technology and automation to reduce reliance on low-skilled migrants.

  1. Neither Labour nor the Conservatives ever deserve to be running the Uk again. The UK is now permanently FUBAR because of these people. It will never be the safe and wonderful country it used to be, and it's all their fault.

  2. If the Conservatives had looked after the British public the way they are supposed to, this man would be Home Secretary instead of shadow Home Secretary. He would then be able to decide policy rather than just commenting on it.
The Conservatives need to humble themselves and give us, the British public, a fullsome apology for all the damage they have done to our once great nation.
The apology needs to include damaging policies such as:
    1. The deindustrialisation of the UK via nut-zero policies.
    2. The sitting on their hands whilst our nation, and particularly our young people, are continually bombarded with gender ideologies, anti-British sentiment, ideologies that promote racial, social and gender division.
    3. They created an open door policy to illegal immigrants and refused to remove the legislation that facilitates this influx.
    4. In particular, they need to appologise for destabalising the North Sea oil and gas industry and the automobile industry via the introduction of fines and "windfall" taxation that was deliberately introduced on the back of their nut-zero agenda.
    5. They then need to apologise for damaging the integrity of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland by agreeing to leave Northern Ireland at the mercy of EU legislation when we all voted as a United Kingdom to leave the EU rather than stay.
