Richard Hammond recently decided that Martin the Subaru Impreza was his favourite Grand Tour car ever. After Mike Fernie spent most of 2023 fixing and modifying the Subaru to the 530bhp monster it now is, he took Richard around the car to show off all of the work undertaken.

Keep the hitch. Great story. Great footrest. Great bumper cover. Mine has lots of red, blue, and yellow paint and my bumper is perfect, still.
pfu… i really love it
Ach, If I was a millionaire I could do many things with cars.
So after all that waffle we don't get to hear it or see it drive !
😂stroker!! Smith and Sniff will be pleased
all those changes wont affect the feeling that an original impreza gives???
Take the tow hook off…….
17 mins of waffle and he don't drive it…
That number plate though BRO 4 AFK- Bro for away from keyboard
Tow bar should go.
Keep the towball for the track day trailer
Next video he crashes…. Again.
Hey Martin. Love your work 👍
When I heard next video I felt the same way as Hammod 😢
Great video gents, I could listen to Rich talk for hours
I don’t like the drivetribe stickers on the doors, happy with the concept, no dramas but perhaps a more stealth approach so they are not bold white in your face…….
I was really hoping for a proper drive and reactions from Richard 🙁
Mike seems a nice guy. Not the most exciting presenter though. I think Hammond needs someone to play off not someone who worships him.
Give the towbar to Isaac at Barum Engines for his tuned Subaru Legacy…..
Im so in love with those Subies
Richard owns a car restoration work shop…. Mike takes his own car to a different work shop to repair the body….
@2:25 Did anyone hear get a shout out?
@4:45 Just no, remove the tow bar. Hideous!!!
I’d keep the ~rear parking sensor~ tow bar 👍
@9:53 Could have jet washed the engine bay and bonnet! Pssh
Keep the tow bar, would be sick to rock up to a race with that towing the MG on its trailer.
You guys could have done more to tidy it up it. So many rusted out nuts and bolts etc that could would easily bring it up to original spec
Tow bar should go…really not the right look for a Scoob…
I think keep the shin splitter on until you hit it one time when you forget it is there and then you can remove it . Because the first time you hit it you won’t care what people think of it lol
Oi drivetribe, I hope you're going to drive it on sustainable fuel to show what's possible nowadays – bonkers and low CO2.
Awh, I just realised, this is only a video of them talking, he's not actually driving it. It really annoys me how they drip feed these videos and extend them for ages in boring chat so they can release two videos and get more views/likes and more revenue from YouTube. Just do it all in one video, handover and drive. @17:21 Yeah I agree Richard
Keep it
Hammond's love for Subarus always gets me.. from a fellow Subaru loving Midlander 🤗
You think 1700 kg with the driver is LIGHT? That's 3700 pounds!!! That weighs the same as a new Mustang GT that has 460/420 and a full interior, A/C, etc.
When did mike become your boss Richard ?
Get a matching wagon and convert it into a half-car trailer to sleep in at meetings!
Nope, tow bar goes!
Richard I can assure you I haven’t driven it, yet 😂
Why did you not clean under the bonnet ? you have taken time to the outside a quick wash would have made the difference
It's getting a bit sad that Hammond just builds TG/GT TV cars
Remove the towbar
REMOVE IT
I would remove the towbar, your video is about bringing the car back to its original state with improvements – leaving the towbar does not do fit this criteria
Personally I would take the towbar off as its an iconic car and the towbar looks daft IMO
I know people who install tow bars just for the extra protection in rear end collision.
They never tow a thing.
I think the hitch should go!
