  1. i used to put literally 5-ish tbsp (TABLESPOONS!) of sugar in my coffee/tea and one day i was like WTF am i doing??? i quit cold turkey that day. it's been years and i no longer put any sugar in my coffee/tea and do not enjoy super sugary drinks or desserts anymore. it also pisses me off that companies are allowed to do whatever tf they want to our food and it's normalized here! it's so not normal though!

  2. I gained weight in the US and I was visiting for a month. Now back home the weight is coming off. It seems so hard to stay healthy while living over there and I commend anyone who does. Sugar in everything, food advertised like crazy, so many food places you drive past with easy accessible drive thrus and big flashy signs. It's not right.

  3. I make my own coffee at home, and 1 – 2 donuts, if any a week doesn't hurt. I just cut the donut in half, eat one one day, pop the rest in the freezer and eat it later if I remember it. I'm not completely off sugar, but I do have a cap on how much my body can stand. It's poison. Sweet, sweet poison. XD

  4. I think the sugar industry has been on a multi-decade tyrade against diet soda which has led to a myth that "diet soda is worse for you than regular soda." From the research I've done there's literally no evidence that aspertame gives you cancer, and the worst thing that could happen to you if you drink diet soda is that your teeth get stained if you don't brush your teeth.

  5. The chat comparison of fattening trash food to alcohol is idiotc.
Alcohol is not basic need of your body.
Alcohol is not avilable to kids.
Alcohol is not allowed to be marketed towards kids.
Alcohol can't be made more healthy. Food CAN be made healthier. You DON'T need 20grams of sugar per 100ml of soda, it will still be sweet with below 10.

  6. When he said we can’t have Medicare/Medicaid for all and all be overweight/obese/severely obese. I want everyone to love themselves, but we need to be real about taking care of our bodies by not overeating and being active. I know it’s hard because our food is terrible and we are busy, but it’s so important. You can start one thing at a time and we need to be loud to the government as we can. This is ridiculous. We are set up for failure. I am in the minority by not being an overweight American, but I’m also going out of my way to be active and not overeat and I’m judged for always having leftovers because the portion sizes are insane.

  7. I’m the guy that hates drinking not flavored things. Each kind of water has a unique flavor bc of the minerals and stuff so my autism just rejects Wrong Water. I can deal with ice water from the tap of my house but once it gets warm nope.

I switched away from pop by drinking flavored sparkling water and juice, but now I’m struggling with heartburn or something bc everything’s acidic. I drink milk sometimes as long as I have lactase tablets.

I hate that im passively gaining weight bc I have an office job where I have to be at the desk for a certain amount of time and I moved recently so I have less money to get good foods. Definitely getting a gym membership when I can afford it.

  9. Wow, I'm so glad I got myself onto tea instead of soda and stuff. I've gotten myself to the point where most desserts are so sweet that I can only eat a couple bites. Took a while to get off the sugar addiction, but I feel so much better now.

  10. Or we could allow people to eat what they want. If you want to be thin, eat salmon and kale. If you want to be fat, eat whatever processed stuff you want. If you’re fat, the solution is not to ban pizza and donuts for everyone. Have some f**king self control!

  11. In my country (Mexico), the government taxes junk food so it's less tempting for lower income families to consume. It also has encouraged companies to change the formulas of their products to make them less harmful and avoid being taxed with that special tax. It's been a few years since we had this and it seems to work, I read that obesity has lowered by about 9%

  12. This problem should be regulated years ago – but our politicians in reality work for corporation’s money.
Check what happened in Mexico when they enforced warnings on food packaging – Nestle lobbied Swiss government to push against regulations in Mexico. This is ridiculous.

It’s all about money. Sugar is highly addictive according to studies + destroys endocrine systems so people buy more more food.

80% of food in the shops has a lot of added sugar for this reasons. We are fed poison and get fat so corporations can profit.

  13. For a sweet tooth I make my own muffins…
They are made of about 3 ripe bananas (+-300g)+flour(300g) then for sweetness 35g brown sugar + 80g erythritol…
And those are for 12 tasty muffins – the best thing is ONE HAS ONLY 170kcal…

There is just a little bit of sugar, the rest is banana and erythritol…

If I can do healthy muffins at home then why corporations can’t? They have all the food engineers and resources they want.
    They want people addicted.
