  1. I think we might have been spoiled a little bit by the Wave 3. With courses like 3DS Rainbow Road, Peach Gardens with a fun twist, Maple Treeway and Berlin Byways (which is currently my favorite Tour course in the DLC) I feel like this wave couldn't quite live up to that.

  2. I watched this video yesterday and literally since then I can’t play Mario kart without the scale of the bystanders Vs the riders standing out like a sore thumb.

    Thanks Alex!

  3. City tracks suck to the point where it's sorta sucking the energy outta these waves…taking up spots for courses we want. Hit that nail on the head with YI, amazing track that was done by heart

  4. What's up with the complaints about the audience in the stands being 2D sprites? That's always been a thing in all Mario karts and spin off games, they don't look bad at all, knocking a course for that is lame.

  5. Cant enjoy the game cause sometimes it looks a little funny?? Didnt realize things had to look pretty in a game to enjoy it. I get in like realistic games but in mario kart?? Dayum lol

  6. I LOVED DK summit, but they really need to fix Lakitu in the final S curve. It takes a week and a half to even fall in, let alone waiting for Lakitu to throw you back miles behind

  7. About the big models, yeah that’s always there, and yeah they’re super close. It’s not exclusive to the Booster Course Pass. Yoshi Valley, Ice Ice Outpost, Shy guy Falls, Wario’s Gold Mine, quite a few more I’m missing, this is just a MK8 thing, not a Booster Course thing. Not fair to hold it against the DLC when it was started for the main game.

  8. “The turns were too sharp!” Dawg what 💀 you have to be so bad at this game to not just break drift and hit those turns smoothly. What’s crazier is Amsterdam is super wide so the “sharp turns” are super easy to pull off.

  9. I've said it to friends for years and I'll say it again. "Nintendo will give us what we want, just not how we want it." So, with Nintendo being Nintendo. We're gonna get Geno as a DLC character for Kart and not Smash.

  10. While I agree that this isn't the best wave we had so far, I still enjoy it for what it has. Though the fact that this wave has 3 city tracks from Tour instead of the usual 2, only proves that Nintendo really wants to archive their Tour tracks in this collection before they end up shutting down their mobile game altogether. And what tracks featured in Tour we don't get in the Booster Pass may end up in Mario Kart 9 when the next console releases.
And who knows? Maybe Nintendo might end up releasing updated versions of these tracks in the next game as DLC. Though that's really just me getting my expectations to high.

  11. I’ve also found some tracks, tour city tracks in particular I find have gotten turns that are way too sharp, and some of the turns are so poorly showcased becuase everything blends in even with the bright arrows. I wish there was more natural signpostingor even the mini map would blank out what routes you’re currently on.

  12. I personally like most of the city tracks. The sharp turns and random ongoings of the track provide a lot of chaos online. Berlin Byways is still one my most favorite tracks ultimately because of the soundtrack.

  13. Completely agree with the right angle turns being awful. Coming down from the upper level of Amsterdam Drift is awful if you miss the first turn to the left, and absolutely impossible on 200cc. The one in Ninja Hideaway after the ramp also makes it basically impossible to take the turn if you attempt to trick it. It's incredibly clear the courses were made for a game with heavy steering assist.

Amsterdam Drift also doesn't have incredibly clear turns, with the red arrows for one of the last turns in the track making it seem like the turn is later than it actually is. Instead of following the turn as all other red arrows do, they're placed slightly offset from the turn. Played the track with friends and every single one of us timed the turn wrong the first time.

  14. I feel like the city courses have copyright limitations to them. Maybe Nintendo got a deal with the tourism groups for Tour and that same deal carries over to DLC? I'm guessing, but a company like Nintendo would have to pay to have Mario ride a go-kart up the eiffel tower, and the same with Big Ben, could see dropping bob-ombs onto Big Ben being a social issue… I think Nintendo chooses to play these city courses VERY safe, and they end up generic and bland.
