Will you be able to strike the right balance between economy and defence? Do you need more archers, thicker walls or an additional mill? Will you keep the enemies at bay with your longbow or charge your horse right into them? It’s going to be a tough night, but nothing beats seeing the sun rise above your little kingdom to live another day.

  1. If you hold the button when placing units it will lock them in place, a small circle should show up under the unit indicating it's locked (if a unit respawns, it will move back to that location). This will stop your archers from running head-first into battle. There's also an option in the settings to toggle units from returning to their original positions by their barracks at the end of each night.

This should make commanding your units feel a bit smoother.

  2. While yes, it's good to focus on economy from the start, perhaps try to avoid building them on the path that enemies will be taking that night (that poor goldmine). Also, the Blastoise tanks will make a B-line for your castle and ignore everything else, quickly losing interest unless you keep attacking them. Remember that you can check to see what the night's enemies are and how they behave, allowing you to plan accordingly.
As you play more, you'll learn which weapons work best with which enemies, and which levels host which enemies.

  3. I have never played this game before but it's quite obvious that you have to go defense first. I have played a lot if rpg's so I know, resources are king, yes. But if you can't defend the resources they literally mean nothing. At least the defenses does something.

I kn9w he learns it later so I'm happy that he does learn it. I'm not complaining at all. I think it's fun watching someone learning the basics of all rpg's.πŸ˜ƒ Reminds me of how I was at the start when I played Red Alert II.

  4. The sniper tower makes more sense to have closer to the castle and the faster firing towers closer to the edges. The towers at the edges are more likely going to go down so you want them to deal as much damage as fast as possible before they get destroyed.

And the sniper towers have longer range and can act more as support and gets to do more damage over time.

  5. A general tip. Well placed soldiers are better than tower, because you can adapt moving them to another front for free, you can start putting soldiers, then walls and finally towers. (of course if you find a good place for a tower, you build that)
About the towers, the "fast tower" is good behind or on top of a wall, the armored for outside the wall following the path of the mobs, and the snipers were you can take advantage of the range and at least one ballista to take down siege units.

  6. So that section of the menu where it tells you what enemies are going to spawn during the next night – does it let you look at the enemies for future nights as well? If so that could be incredibly useful for choosing what kind of soldiers to train, since they’re each suited to specific enemy types.

  7. One other tip. Unless you have the Commander trait, you definitely don't want to be moving troops that are in the middle of combat (it slows you down and turns them into sitting ducks for enemies).

  8. You did so well!!! You haven't even died once yet!)

Remember to lock archers in place so they can stay safe, shooting down from the cliff or from behind the wall:)

You can also call each unit type by going up to their respective barrack and pressing the option there.

Also there is a button to view all available buildings, instead of running up to each dot individually to see what it will build πŸ™‚

Fire spires are awesome. Sniper towers are great, but slow.

    Can't wait to see more!

  9. Yeaaah you're doing awesomely! I think everyone has pretty much said everything, lol, but my only thing to add is that for the Hunterlings, the ones that hunt you down. They don't stop to purposefully cause damage to buildings and things once they have a clear path to you. So while it's good to have people/towers/walls in place to fend against them, I tend to mostly ignore them when setting up my troops. Especially when there's ogres or trebuchet around, because I know that they'll come find me anyway. And I put my focus on the big bois that'll cause major damage if they can get to the important things.

But again, you're doing Amazingly~! πŸ˜€ Keep on Keeping On, and thank you so much for doing what you do!!

  10. i did the challenges in first two areas before moving into the third area. By leveling up you unlock so much stuff. It made things easier moving to the next area.

You are doing well. And you stress me the heck out when you have almost no army with 105 guys coming out! I’m clearly not as good a gamer. ❀❀❀❀
