I haven't read many lore bits about enemies but Warrior Jars have by far the creepiest and most grotesque backstory of the ones I did read.
Warriors come to the jars and get mashed into meat soup inside them to lend the jars their strength. They are an amalgamation of the flesh of strong warriors in a jar and if you get your camera right you can even see the layers of meat inside them. Upon dying they can drop Raw Meat Dumplings.
So archery only run confirmed in the future?

Did a faith warrior build for my first character and the Tree Sentinel's weapon was very good and came with a group buff skill and did indeed feel really good to use on horseback.
That bear fight almost gave me a kodiak arrest.

I'm sure chat told you, but light all the torches in that river area and you can fight the stag spirit boss. He's not super difficult and it's a cool encounter.
