We bought our dream home.. it’s falling down! Renovating a 200 year old stone cottage.

As major demolition finally begins, it’s pretty quickly halted!
As we continue to expose the 200 year old stone walls, it rapidly becomes apparent just how wonky, crumbly and well, falling over this house is.
Restoring a remote old cottage on an abandoned farm was always going to be a challenge, but what we find under the plasterboard make this challenge just that bit tougher.
We do make good progress on our off grid barn though, and our cat Summer finally gets her freedom!

As usual, we have tried to include a bit of everything, including the local wildlife and nature mixed with our usual female foolery, we always love hearing what you lot think in the comments so do let us know, and as always, thank you for watching!

Follow us on our journey as we attempt to create a proper youtube travel series as we, two female travelers and vanlifers, attempt to travel across Europe in our rolling tiny home.

  1. Love your vlogs. Have you seen a channel called Sean’s world. It’s a guy in France restoring an old stone cottage. I think a lot of what he has done you will need to also. He’s dealt with crumbling walls and more. Hope this is helpful.

  2. I now get to watch your videos twice….my folks are now hooked and filled with admiration, so I watch with them, then have to rewatch to see the bits I miss when they ask questions or discuss how amazing you both are 😊 looking forward to seeing your progress!💪🏽

  3. Superb video. The fence pole tossing sequence was poetry in motion. When I watch your heroic struggles I keep thinking of our local DIY stores offer of 2 for the price of one on matt emulsion 5 litre cans🤣.

  7. Thank you. You guys are an inspiration. We bought a place in south west Scotland last December. Lots to do here too. You’d be very welcome to stay if you’re ever in the area. (Or at least pop in for a cuppa)!
    Keep up the good work.

  8. Maybe someone already mentioned it, old cottage natural walls are wider at the bottom and get more narrow towards the top.
Cupboards will never be flush to the walls, such a pain 😂 but it should be on both sides, not leaning!

  9. I just wanted u two know how much joy and happiness you bring to my life. I lost my partner over a year ago. He left suddenly and I have grieved a full year today. Please keep being awesome in a world where sometimes people can be so cruel and unacceptable of people with different lifestyle choices. I love how much you two love each other and help each other grow. Thanks for being yous and I look forward to more videos. ❤😊❤

  10. Just thinking about your walls….if you originally had a thatched roof then it’s likely the weight of the slate roof has pushed the walls outwards. The rafters should’ve been joined from wall to wall to create a triangle, that would prevent the walls from spreading, if that’d been done your ceiling wouldn’t need to be suspended.

  11. Get 'Soresto' collars for the pets, honestly 8-12 months protection, no flea problem since using, I live by fields and ticks drop off dead. Unfortunately they don't chose where they drop off, the only downside. Cracking vid as ever

  12. I now have an eSIM thanks to you for the UK. There are areas that Three doesn’t work reliably. I’m hoping this will allow me to get data when travelling to places such as Oxford and Swindon. Fingers crossed.
