WE BOUGHT A BOAT!! Life in our Cottage on the Isle of Skye, Scottish Highlands – Ep27

Willie, Sarah and their dog, Jack Spaniels, continue their biggest adventure yet – leaving their suburban life and moving over the sea to ‘Live The Skye Life’!

In this episode, the Skyelifers realise a dream of Willie’s – buying his very own boat!

Will this spell disaster at sea for the team or will it be smooth sailing – watch as we embark on our maiden voyage, with a little help from our pal Richard of course!

Also – watch as we try our best to save some wildlife in the woods!

Thanks & see you in the next video!

  2. so, so happy you guys have a new addition to your family! Awesome. I really like the fact that you play guitar music too. The scenery is smashing. Oh, I would love to visit the area one day. Stay safe and happy days ahead guys.

  3. Loved this episode. Would look to get a good professional service of the outboard motor before you have any big adventures which see you a long way off shore, Hard to tell exactly by seems to be little mistimings I can hear when idling at 20.30 and the stalls you had. The length of time the boat been idle and how it was stored may not have been ideal. Not the best to have to get rescued due to lack of maintenance. Even the best made outboard motors need to be taken care of to keep running well. Welcome to hobby of full-time boat maintenance with occasional sea trips.

  4. Well, it may be a boat, but it is really a plastic tub with a motor. Congratulations all the same though.

I have a dream of a sailboat not a plastic tub, I have a bathtub and that will probably be more useful.

  5. What an absolute delight! I could feel the wind in your hair/fur! Thank you for the total escapism. Your boat will give you a totally different dimension to your lives, and hours of great adventures! I wonder what you will name her?

  7. Brilliant decision on buying the boat and I presume you can now get to places quicker, which would have taken longer by road. Richard is such an amazing friend and always happy to share his knowledge and help with you. See you soon for more adventures.

  8. Wow that brought back so many memories, but a lot of differences the first was a trip to Scotland and Isle of Skye, my mom I took the ferry over with no car and found a working phone booth and got a car over to the B&B the ride on the ferry was fun and got a little wet but the smile on my face was so big I might have needed a grinectomy 😂 I hope you enjoy your boat and yes hauling a trailer will keep your attention like nothing else will.

  9. Richard is great, glad you have him in your community and lives! I love the boat, it is a nice size. Looks like Jack is in his natural environment on the boat, the boats name may have to reflect him in some way. I hope that Sarah paints the name on in her own cool way!

  10. Excellent video better than watching Coronation St. Discovered your exploits while in Australia living my dream for 3 months with my son and his wife. You are definetly going to have some great adventures in your boat.

  11. Fabulous video of the whole new boat experience AND the frogspawn to frog cycle! My dog once picked up a frog in our garden. When he dropped it, it looked dead, but I put it in an open ice-cream box and laid it in our wheelie bin. The next day, there it was jumping around inside the bin – so I boxed it again and released it close to a stream!

  12. Another great video as always! Loved the tadpole update section, there's something about the way you both interact with nature that makes it interesting to watch and be engaged in!
