  1. I just discovered Immortals Fenyx Rising 😊 It's scratching my itch of wanting to go back to BOTW that TOTK unfortunately didn't give me 😢. I love Greek Mythology and the dialogue is funny and so unserious sometimes 😂 I'm really enjoying it so far 🤗

  2. I have a complex with game difficulty. If I do well in a game, it's too easy and I feel infantilized by the devs . So I often crank up the difculty to the point where it's no longer fun. I recently lost all my progress in Baldur's Gate 3 because I forced myself to play Honour Mode with permadeath on practically my first run, and it feels bad 🙁

So I bought a nice relaxing game like Dave the Diver and took it easy. I still push myself in that game; hunting sharks and doing night dives as deep as I can go. I it never feels frustrating.

  3. I think a much more important aspect to breaking your funk is be willing to really get out of your comfort zone. Don't get hung up on genre conventions and try something the seems wildly out of left field for you. Also even if you have tried a game in a genre and didn't care for it don't let that impact all games grouped in the same genre. I know people that bounced off Spelunky or Binding of Isaac but love Hades to death. Personally I wasn't a fan of Factorio but have over 500 hours now in Satisfactory. Lastly, don't focus just on AAA or super well known publishers. If you only focus on big name releases you'll never experience gems like Outer Wilds, Tunic, Hollow Knight, Stardew Valley or many more.

  4. TLDR: I play game for gameplay more than the story. A bad gameplay can't save by a good story. But a good gameplay could save a bad story. Just watch a movie/tv series if you want good stories.

The problem is most AAA game released today are INTERACTIVE MOVIES. There is no difference of watching someone in youtube play it than play it yourself.

plus the lack of customization. You can't fully immersed yourself so you end up getting bored.

I rather watch their movie version than play as Joel, Arthur, Geralt, etc.
This is the reason why SKyrim is still relevant up to this day.

  5. 1. Pick a game in your backlog.
    2. TURN OFF THE DAMN PHONE, TV, YOUTUBE, ETC. Only have the screen of the game on. No multitasking. Play the god damn game.
    3. Pick a 1-2 hour window and ONLY play that game.
    4. Do this for a week and thank me later

  6. I think an important and missing tip is: just don't play games for a while. It's probably likely you get gaming lethargy because you're bored and/or oversaturated. Find something else to do for some time. After a few days, maybe a few weeks, you'll actually WANT to play again.
